You know, take this whole robot war out, quit forcing Zimmingham to be meshed with reality, and this'd probably be an actual treatment for her condition. Might make her happy. I sorta like the idea that Zimmy's tagged, it'd make sense if it kept the world in her mind while suppressing its inhabitants like how the tag kept Annie's etheric connection while suppressing her flame.
I'd like to think that, anyway. For some reason, I keep getting this bad feeling that Zimmy's going to die. And one other bad feeling I'mma keep to myself for now.

The Nobodies and other horrors of Zimmy's world may be mostly attracted to Zimmy, who hasn't shown up yet - that could be why they, in turn, haven't shown up yet.
I've been wondering lately whether Zimmy's real dread of this place may be not due to any intrinsic harm in it (though the Whitelegs are testimony that it *is* dangerous to others), but because of what it represents for her. We know that it's a "distorted mirror" version of her home town, and we know that when Gamma found her, she was living on the streets, in a poor condition. Presumably everyone in Birmingham other than Gamma who met her feared and shunned her; her own parents probably mistreated her, looking upon her as a horror and an abomination. "This world of madness" may terrify her because it symbolizes her traumatic experiences before she met Gamma - experiences which she's reminded of each time she winds up there. To those who haven't experienced what she has, Zimmy's world might seem strange, even alarming (especially when you wonder how you'll get out of it), but not dangerous on the same level - at least, not at first.
(When writing this, it occurred to me that Gamma's most important feature might be, not her etheric ability to calm down Zimmy, but her ability to love the seemingly unlovable.)

goldenknots,
That might be a possible explanation, but would one not expect the characters to make some remark then, perhaps just acknowledging that the robot fleet arrived surprisingly fast?
Elysium,
So far the Court was always quick to send humans (sensu lato) when something went wrong - often Eglamore or Jones, sometimes others as at the end of Spring Heeled 1. But well, perhaps the Court is indeed simply unaware that anything is off - in which case one would expect Antimony and the robots to be berated at some point for not informing them.
mangotango,
That seems like a far shot, and much too dangerous a test.
espional, Daedalus,
As mentioned before I don't see this time's Zimmingham as so strange. One could assume that humans are always themselves in that world because that is how they see themselves, but that the robots are more organic because that is what they want to become. Gamma may have been in the same location as always only this time the viewpoint was from the other side of the building. I'd agree with todd on the nobodies: they are superfluous to requirements for this chapter; also, maybe they don't form if there are so many real people there already?

More like the Blue Fairy. Paz could be Jiminy Cricket. Let's just hope it goes better then in the original story for her. Oh yeah, good point. It's been a while since I've watched that movie.

All right, I'm jumping back on the "Jack is messed up" bandwagon. As several of you have said, the pacing is off, and Jack's... "friendly competence," let's say, is the most noticeable personality change. He feels like he planned for all of this all along. Much as I like the new Jack, I suspect he's hiding something...

I'd felt a bit uncertain about him myself, for reasons that I've given before. (It didn't help that, after talking about how dangerous it was to have Zimmy on board, once they actually get transported into her world, he starts laughing in delight - as if he really *did* want to go back and was just pretending to be upset about Zimmy's presence on the ship to keep anyone from getting suspicious.)
