Being in a reality-warping hell-dimension hasn't changed Rey's expertise with the resident ladies, it seems.

Wow! Two seconds before the Comic was published! This must be a new record!
And I already thought that I lost it because of my wordiness about the page!
Edit: More on the topic, ship's robot crew has turned pretty creepy in Zimmingham. (I managed to double post! Where is everybody?)

I doubt that just shouting "attack!" and doing so will cut it at all. Seraphs appear to be far more competent than the other robots.

Attack!Edidt: Thought I'd try my hand. Whew! My heart is all a beat and my hands shakin' Congrats, I have only managed to do it once. Either I was really lucky or the regulars were napping that day. I love how Rey comes out from plunging crash and immediately spots a pretty girl and is ready to turn on the charm. Quite the rascal, that Renardine. Now we get to see some RoboWars! Do the sailor-bots have ... pincers where their lower body used to be? *shudder* Creepy.

That's a good point, in that we haven't even seen what the Seraphs look like and whether or not their etheric transformation would augment their physical capabilities. Like if they could actually fly or not with those wings. (prolly not, being all skeletal like that). Then again, who knows, maybe all the rest of the robots are very, very capable. Edit: And thank you SilverbackRon, and that's definitely a wow, zimmyzims. I might try it again. Though I feel I may not.

Reynard has forgotten the most important part of the fight; the entry music for both parties. *Ship enters to Master of Puppets*
The Resident Ladies Expert® almost pulled off the James Bond entrance. Needs to work on his landing and have another witty one liner handy so that he can earn his tuxedo.

Well! Renard appears to have recovered quickly from his disorienting entry into Zimmingham (interesting he's not as thingy about it as he has been in the past. Maybe it will dawn on him later?)
Meanwhile, has Kat developed a case of Stockholm Syndrome?

Meanwhile, has Kat developed a case of Stockholm Syndrome? I think it was more a case of becoming so distracted by her new abilities that she'd forgotten their present situation until Paz reminded her.

I doubt that just shouting "attack!" and doing so will cut it at all. Seraphs appear to be far more competent than the other robots. Except those aren't Seraphs, just the crew-robots. Given Tom's dislike of gratuitous violence, I wonder whether something will cancel the robot-war at the start of Monday's page.

Jenny's excitement continues to make me suspicious that she is in league with the Seraphs. There is nothing on any one page that really justifies the suspicion, but until we find out how the Seraphs got the etheric tags, every unusually reaction on her part seems suspicious to me.
Two other brief observations:
The robot crew look like they are made of rock instead of metal/plastic. May be quite difficult to battle. Time for some hacking and network attacks!
Three of the Bots in the last panel look they have bandanas tied to their head. Kat's enjoyment of MSG appears to be making an impression.

I'll confess I've wondered (though at this point, it belongs only to the field of wild speculation) that Jack and Jenny were behind all this. Note that: 1. They were conveniently absent from the dance hall when the robots carried out their take-over. 2. They knew what was going on, though they weren't in the hall when the robots showed up, and neither Annie nor anyone else (as far as we can tell) informed them. Note, also, that Jack had (back in "Spring-Heeled") gotten into the Court's computer systems and learned about the students' etheric abilities. He could have shared those with the robots, while leaving out certain crucial facts about Zimmy's abilities. On the other hand, Jack and Jenny *did* help Annie send for help. (Unless it was to keep her from being suspicious of them - in this theory, Jack's outburst about Zimmy being on board would also have to have been staged to draw suspicion away from himself.) But we'll have to wait and see how things unfold before this can be more than a speculation.

Robot holy war status: opened Just thinking, what will the say when they arrive to save private Kat and find out that she's enjoying what she's doing as ship's captive? Now that Paz raised the pertinent question? She isn't enjoying it. " Because it sounds like one big awkward moment."(c) Well! Renard appears to have recovered quickly from his disorienting entry into Zimmingham (interesting he's not as thingy about it as he has been in the past. Maybe it will dawn on him later?) He was welcomed by a fine lady. Isn't going to complain now. Meanwhile, has Kat developed a case of Stockholm Syndrome? I'm not subscribed on DSM quarterly (nor American Scientist), so remind me, which one is this? About folk getting an impression that they have more in common with a bandit holding them at knife-point (supposedly out of dire straits) than with Big Bro (who shuffles them into meatgrinder by weight, but only to meat the amortisation expenses on the meatgrinder) - which is undoubtedly an outrageous pathology? Or one of the other ones?

It would be best not to attack. All robots are friendly, and simply happen to look 'creepy' at the moment.

There is nothing on any one page that really justifies the suspicion, but until we find out how the Seraphs got the etheric tags, every unusually reaction on her part seems suspicious to me. I like her and hope she stays around. Though sometimes, I get a semi "Mary-Sue" vibe. It makes me wonder if she's being setup for an untimely end. But, that would ruin my imaginary January, Jenny, and Cookie Monster side story. They fight crime and are called Renard's Angels. You know you want to read it. Seriously Tom, make that happen. Reynard has forgotten the most important part of the fight; the entry music for both parties. *Ship enters to Master of Puppets*The Resident Ladies Expert® almost pulled off the James Bond entrance. "Have you ladies seen the parking valet?"

The puppet bots look like they're mostly made of a carapace, to me, except for their forearms, which look like bones. I'm thinking that the forearms reflect, at least a little, the progress Kat has already made with the main AI's body, as we see her specifically making a bone. I'm hoping that the puppet bots will become more fleshy and less robotic over the course of the chapter, as Kat progresses with building the body for the ship. (If she indeed progresses.)
I think that would be a cool visual effect!

the amazing court bot abilities apparently extend to surviving falls of up to fifty metres with nary a scratch due to their networking, the distraction posed by this conflict (in addition to kat shenanigans) may interfere with the overall combat ability of the puppets-bots, presuming that it is possible to overload 'mr ship' by engaging its clients simultaneously

Jack isn't even in this one. Either Tom is giving him space for a reaction to Rey next comic, or he needs to get a better agent.

THE SHIP'S PUPPET ROBOTS ARE PUPPETS/MARIONETTES. That is so cool. This seems to be the general consensus so far in the thread, but they seem more like spiders to me -- even if they're not 8-legged. Here's why: - They're descending on what looks like threads of spider webbing
- They have a shared mind, like the whitelegs do (so perhaps they've merged somehow, or are otherwise under their influence?)
- Space filler; do not read. (A list looks stupid when you only have two points.)
(If she indeed progresses.) I think that would be a cool visual effect! It does look like a carapace to me too. Whether it will continue to flesh out or not remains to be seen, but if it does I'm not sure if it will be due to what Kat's doing or an unintended side-effect of the level 6 etheric distortion. (Speaking of which, where is Zimmy in all this? The poor girl's got me worried, dang it!) Either way, I do think there's a good chance that the robot crew here may change more; even if it doesn't I'm CONFIDENT that we're in for cool visual effects!
