I suspect that the Headmaster will have to give in - if for no other reason than that if anything happens to Annie Also, his daughter was on the ship and is now in Zimmingham. He knows how dangerous that place is; I don't think he's heartless enough to let her die. I'd thought of Janet's presence on the ship as well - though the Headmaster does strike me as cold enough to make his decisions based more on the overall survival and well-being of the Court than on family ties. How much does he know about Zimmy's world, though? (Returning us to the question of how much information the Court had on that in Zimmy's files - based on my earlier comments about how much the robots seemed to know.) Especially since, before this chapter, the only people who visited it (as far as we know) were Zimmy, Gamma, Annie and Jack. (Jones seemed to know something about it, though.)

Or it might be part of the solution. Smith's power is to 'generate' order: could he be able to revert the disruption and bring everybody back from Zimmingham? I doubt that Tom will ever let Andrew solve problems that way except in spacemonaut simulations, where, since it was just a simulation and not a real problem, it doesn't matter (and can lead to some comical moments of Parley yelling at Smith that he just ruined the adventure). ...or maybe Andrew's power has always had the potential to fix reality-warping etheric disruptions and Tom has been saving the revelation for a moment like this. I know I'd like to see the kid do something really epic, and this might just be it!

I don't think the headmaster is heartless, but I can totally picture someone telling him "Sir, your daughter is on board" and having him reply "... I know. Let it proceed". I reckon the court has a pretty good idea of how Zimmy works. It's unclear if they know exactly what goes on inside her head, but they probably know that this kind of thing can happen. I think that they are doing all they can to get as much information out of her without pushing her too far. And, Zimmy has been described as an entire Ether power station cramped into one person, so if there are similarities between Zimmy and the power stations then the Court have probably achieved similar reality-warping conditions.

STOP ALL THIS NONSENSE.I can totally picture someone telling some other guy "But his daughter is on board" and this guy replying "He doesn't need to know. Proceed as we planned". PS: Nice avatar. ^^

Will we ever see the reality-warp they are working on? Yes. Someday. I am curious for when this mystery is solved... Also, double-post
