Are you sure this is Paz we're seeing in that 2nd panel ?... :/ For me, hair length is too long to be her... But I do recognize the peculiar hair of Janet ! In the first panel. Anyway, I'm thrilled (is that how we say it ?) to see what happen next !

Ohhhh, you guys, I don't think anyone remembered the Tooth! Annie has the sharpest means available to cut through any sea. Now I'm scared.

It IS summer!Hah, to all the doubters! EDIT: dammit why didn't I title this [clapping noises]?? Funny, you seem to have automatically corrected Tom. Tom, check your text, unless inotation means something sensible in this context. As someone suggested earlier, it might have been Lindsey making a typo. It must be hard typing with pincers.

... who can we identify besides Kat, Annie and Paz? I think that's Janet closest to our pov in panel 1. I can't see Paz unless she's just in front of Kat & Annie in panel 2 (hair seems a little long, though) (Gulby's already said this!) Simulation or not, is it just the girls, or is Bud inviting his gang along as well? Who else is going on the cruise? *hoping for another Faraway Morning You think Bud would miss out on this? I bet we find him in the captain's bucket! (I'm thinking simulation... the fade away is not unlike the effect in Minecraft. Ooh! I wonder if Randy has the setting on 'Survival')

plot twist, it's the 70000 tons of metal cruise!
I think we might have get something like, one of the girls or two fall of the ship in a storm and get washed up on an island. But who could it be? Paz, Kat or Annie? maybe Paz and Kat or Annie and Paz?
I also wonder if only the girls are going. if not, what are the boys going to do? Would be unfair if the got nothing to do for summer.

Maybe the guys will go to the mountains, and after the vacation there is a debate on who got the short end of the stick.
But seriously, didn't expect this. Is this really the first chapter in the comic not set in the Court or in the Forest? Is this a private harbour and a cruise ship, or are they actually sharing space with mundane people? I really, really wish that we get a glimpse of how the world outside the Court works in this chapter. Are there robots or magitech gadgets? I am extremely excited...

Hmmm... This beggining surprised me a bit.(because i do not really remember a case, that would have been the sort of a bigger trip outside of the Court) But at least, my theory has been confirmed (for me), that the first(non title) page of the chapter describes the basic situation, and the location(in case of this chapter), or the central characters of it.

"And so it shall come to pass..." Completely expected this. Wait no, no I did not.
Guys it that inotation might be a pun on intonation and notation.

WAIT NO THAT IS A DOOMED SHIP DO NOT GET ON IT [MOUNTING CONCERN] GIRLS STOP DO NOT BOARD THE DOOMED SHIP WHAT ARE YOU DOING NNNNOOOOOOOOO [DESPAIRING ECHO] I would suspect Tom would be classier than that. That trope is just so over used in comics and cartoons; every time there's a ship = catastrophe of some kind.

So, Gunnerkrigg Court: Beach Episode. If they start pulling out watermelons and blindfolds, I'll lose it laughing. As someone suggested earlier, it might have been Lindsey making a typo. It must be hard typing with pincers. She may also have been distracted by an n-dimensional hyperspiral. There's no telling what kind of distractions she deals with, regularly. Maybe, the coming drama is less about students and more about Lindsey and Bud.

This is just a blatant excuse to draw girls in bikinis; clearly, reader-numbers are down and Tom is resorting to fan-service to raise them. But seriously, I'm kind of curious where the cruise-ship is parked. Circumstances have conspired, for one reason or another, to keep Annie from leaving the court and/or the forest for several years in a row. Is this ship docking somewhere else? Will there be non-court people aboard? Or is it the court's own private cruise-line, shipping out on their own internal sea that we last saw back in Chapter...19 (I think?). We all knew the court is big, like, REALLY big, but big enough to have it's own internal mini-ocean? I think that raises even more questions about just what kind of place this is, that it's apparently hard to find from the outside, but yet still interacts somewhat with the world at large. Because "pocket universe" just moved up several places on my list.

The good old "great ship goes to its "Tragical and Catastophic" voyage" Cliche, that which Hollywood likes to use. One of the most OverUsed, and most Boring cliches (in my humble opinion).

I kind of just want to see any general awkward-cute situation. With Kat/Paz, William/Janet, it doesn't need to be restricted to couples, though.

I wonder how Lindsey will participate in this cruise? She's too big to fit aboard ship, even if she could breathe air, and if not the tank for water would be even bigger. While she's clearly at home in the water I'm not sure she can stay above the ocean floor.

When I read this comic I had an article about the Costa Concordia up on the other half of my monitor. That gives "ON A CRUISE" a much more ominous connotation.

It cuts the Earth, not the Sea hahahah I like this speculation... I think it's sharp enough that it could cut through water, Moses-style. A cutaway view of the ocean would be thrilling, especially with Tom's art. At least that's my fantasy!

While she's clearly at home in the water I'm not sure she can stay above the ocean floor. Well, she can rise up from the moon pool, so presumably she can swim somehow. Though I guess she could only be present ethereally and/or through an Internet connection.

I would ask if Lindsey can get out of the tank, but that would raise the question of how she got in there.
