If Annie drops by while Green's getting her wings, how badly would Canvey mess things up trying to "explain" what's going on? If he even gets as far as that..
Anyway I can kinda see Annie doing a bit of work on the forest -> court transfer system if that's in her jurisdiction. Perhaps it could end up similar to Aly&co, dramatic (reverse-)animorphs transformation and all.

Hmm, what if in this case, it'd have to be Smitty who figures out whether they can allow a Forest creature in in some way other than dying? We keep speculating on what'll Annie do...what will Smitty do? What will his power do?

We keep speculating on what'll Annie do...what will Smitty do? What will his power do? Good point! This page: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=492 seems to indicate that Ys had some hand in setting the rules around humans coming to the forest being required to leave their bodies behind. It could very well be that someone at the court set the rules about the "test" forest creatures take to become human and the attributes their new bodies are assigned. I wonder how long ago the rules were set and if they could be changed. We do know that transfers were happening in both directions even when the court had no medium. (Aly and the fairies both transitioned in the gap between Surma and Smitty.) How much is the system automated at this point?

I'm beginning to suspect that good ol' Canvey is the Forest equivalent of . Called it before you, in the comments page.

Hmm, what if in this case, it'd have to be Smitty who figures out whether they can allow a Forest creature in in some way other than dying? Are we sure a forest creature that is not a faery needs to be killed at this point? This is going to be fun, Coyote is chaos, Andrew order. At this moment Coyote is smiling, but that might change. The leaders of the court are not necessarily idiots. Now, I wonder what hipster fairies wear? Flying Fish fins? Helicopter propellers? The word hipster is a bit like the word asshole, nobody calls himself that, but the world seems full of them. When I first heard the word, it was still in use for people who liked Charley Parker or Chet Baker, smoked a funny cigarette once a while and thought sex was not necessarily dirty; late 40s early 50s.(not that I am that old, but I read the books and like the music) Nowadays it seems to be a derogatory term for people who act, look or think "different" without having a proper excuse like religion or ethnicity. Both now and then people like myself. I admit I have not the slightest idea what hipster culture amounts to in the English speaking world today, and what is written only supports the idea that it is more a term to alienate and set apart people who have drifted from the flock. I actually think it does not exist, and therefore I like it. If Tom ever has the nerve to dis them in his comic ....

Are we sure a forest creature that is not a faery needs to be killed at this point? Good catch, but moot I think. The animals also get new bodies, how would they get them if they didn't die first? No discernible reason why their deal would be different from the fairies, from what we know so far. It's interesting that humans don't need to die, they just have to give up their bodies. That means that Forest beings have a worse deal: they give up their bodies, but they also have to die and for animals, they have to potentially change sex too. Humans just get different bodies, that's it. I would attribute this to Ysengrin's attitude towards "traitors" and the Court not caring much either way. Why Coyote accepted this imbalance is another question.

Canvey continues to be a source of bad advice. Well, I am sure the Mediums will be pleased to meet her and see her wings, but clearly " You gotta impress 'em or they won't talk to you" is just plain false, like everything else he has said. She needs better friends. And the only one she has wants to leave.

But as for existing proof, either way is possible. I'm sure we'll see soon! Or maybe after some ten chapters or so.
