It's possible that the only guiding done by Surma was for her own mother, and that if there was nothing left there.was nothing to say. Consequently the entire line miss out. (other guides may be unaware of this oversight) |

(other guides may be unaware of this oversight) That is a very real possibility. Everyone else already has a guide from their culture, what good is a Fire Elemental Psychopomp? How often would they have work? Except to other fire elementals perhaps. But now Annie knows and she can make sure to tell her daughter her final record. The lineage of ignorance can end here. Unless there is a reason they don't want to leave a final record? |

All we know is that she'd helped them before and that they were aware of her dwindling strength, and the reason for it, hence their interest in Antimony's help. They're asking for her help again, in fact. |
