Uuu... I hope it's scary. Also, skeleton head with eyes? creepy. Nah, I think it might actually be a whole skeleton, and you just can't see it all 'cause it's off-page.

Either way, someone will go all "I see dead people!" I see psychopomps! Very few people can see psychopomps... while still alive. Have your next of kin been notified? This chapter has "Dead" in the title, so it's already guaranteed to be a barrel of laughs. The jokes will be to die for! I'll see myself out...The mother of an old friend of ours worked in a cemetery. She said it was tough because people are just dying to get in, and they operate with a skeleton staff.

Well, that's the most ominous title page since...three chapters ago. The tone of the comic seems darker recently. Will it be about mechanical life and death, or will we get more psychopomp lore? Why not both? A robotic psychopomp. Just calling it now. Bonus points if the chapter starts with focussing on Robert Paulson. Actually, that makes a lot of sense. Does an organic body with a robot mind deserve a psychopomp? I'll bet that it's an etheric rather than ethic issue.

Wow, a very interesting title for this chapter. I too am expecting to see more about Psychopomps, perhaps a bit more detail about the connection to the ether. Maybe even a glimpse of where the spirits are guided to? I wonder if we will hear more about the ultimate fate of Surma? For example, what exactly happened when young Antimony had to lead her mother to the ether by herself if, as Reynard says, after Surma's death there was nothing to take?

I am also hoping for deeper insight into Psychopomps and the various afterlives experienced by humans before they join the ether. Also hoping to learn more about Jeanne's imprisonment on the banks of the Annan Waters.

I'm hopeing something GrimDark happens,
like Margo dying a tragic death and then Annie has to escort her soul to the afterlife.

Prospective character list:
- Mort - Muut - Dhoo
What's with the 4-letter names?

I hope so- Dhoo is a really cool character. It's such a dilemma, Tom has so many awesome characters that need more page-time... I can't root for them all at once. WHERE ARE YOU JACK WE NEED YOUR SASSY CLEVERNESS AND HEIST-MOVIE MENTALITY

So we have a chapter title, 2 smallish pictures and a preview of the clothes Kat and Annie will be wearing, and not more then 2 pages of speculation?

Ah, I had seen this when it was first given to us, but then forgot about it. Thanks. So, I wonder, will Annie and Kat journey to this realm of the dead? Or will it be more exposition-style comics (we haven't had one in a while)? Discuss.

I love that Kat is wearing a Vault-tec shirt. That cracked me up when I first saw it. Doubly so since I am re-playing Fallout 3 right now.

I liked 3's atmosphere better, but NV had weapon attachments and a bunch of other much needed tweaks... and Boone. Can't argue with Boone. It doesn't end well.

I never did get around to finishing New Vegas. I wasn't a big fan of the crafting aspects (like having to cook all the foods, etc) and I just couldn't get into the storyline as well as F3. I really should go back and give it another try. Three times so far I have started a new campaign but quit after a while...

Perhaps the need for the psychopomp was just now created by the actions of Robot and his followers, or at least set the stage for such a need. Either way, I'm looking forward to watching all of this begin to tie together.

I hadn't thought about the psycopomp idea till I Came on the forum, but now thinking about it it does make the most sense. Personally, given the image looking like the mexican Day of the Dead, I was wondering if it had something to do with Paz again, as she is spanish and I assumed had similar festivals, but looking it up it seems to be a purely mexican thing, the Spanish just go to Mass and visit relatives graves. The creation of a robotic psycopomp, and whether it would be accepted by the other psycopomps (we do not deal in electric appliances) is an intreguing idea, and would seem to back up Robot's rather creepy claims of Kat creating and destroying life.

In English language the nouns, verbs and adjectives are conventionally capitalised in titles of books, movies, etc. but most conjunctions, prepositions and particles aren't. If the title doesn't inconventionally start with "And", it doesn't get capitalised. It's actually pretty atypical to capitalise the word "of", either, like Tom does in the title of this chapter. lightice is correct! This should liven things up! I see what you did there. The title page reminds me of Day of the Death celebrations/artwork. Is a Mexican tradition, no? Paz is not strictly depicted/stated as Mexican, but she may know of it, by association? I'm guessing Fun City may make a come back with a chapter icon like broken windows. :/ That place gives me the jeebies.

Skipping right through everyone's post, I do so hope for some heavy fantastical underworld slash spirit realm shenanigans! But getting greater familiarity with psychopomps is a wonderful treat too. And I certainly would enjoy a great gathering and discussion by the many psychopomps that exists about having a new robotic psychopomps or the discussions on the implications of living robots and whether or not it may cause some sort of disturbance, great or small, to the ether and the world and what not.

It looks to me like the skull has a hood surrounding it? So maybe we might see the Grim Reaper?

The title page reminds me of Day of the Death celebrations/artwork. Is a Mexican tradition, no? Paz is not strictly depicted/stated as Mexican, but she may know of it, by association? I don't remember if it's in-comic or Word of Tom, but Paz is Galician. Galicia is the northwest corner of Spain, due north of Portugal. Linguists argue about the relationship between the Galician, North Portuguese, and South Portuguese languages/dialects, but it's pretty clear they are more closely related to each other than to Spanish. Spain does formally recognize Galician as a regional language. It is (I'm pretty sure) Word of Tom that Paz actually doesn't speak Spanish very well. Considering that her native language is closer to Portuguese and she came to a British boarding school pretty young, that seems appropriate. There's no particular reason to think that Paz would be aware of how Mexican-native customs got mixed into the celebration of All Saints' Day. (There is another Galicia, of interest mainly to medieval historians, located in southeastern Poland and southwestern Ukraine, maybe randomly lapping a bit over their southern borders from Czech to Moldova. Similarly, there is Galatia in central Turkey. Yes, the names do have much the same origin as "Gaul", pre-Roman France, and "Gaelic", the native language of Ireland.)
