it looks very plausible. but dang. blue ain't with her. that don't look good. Still, maybe at least, we will get to know her human name. i dont think she is fat, just drawn wider for DRAMATIC EFFECT.
Also, "Tonight the part of Kat Donlan will be played by the lovely Ms. Maria Vasquez"

Look at those ears. If that really is the red fairy, that also means that none of Annie's other classmates (at least, the ones we've met so far) used to be fairies.

Pointy ears! Do all the suicide fairies keep pointy ears when they come to the Court? That's a good identifying mark there.

Trés bien, Mezzaphor I love the dramatic shadows accompanying the "IT'S YOU!" (In case people are wondering who she is: 129, and onwards.)

Heh, it took me a second of staring. At first I'm like "Wait, huh? We haven't seen her before."
I stared another momenet, and I'm like "Oh! Fairy! Suicide fairy!"

I still wonder if "suicide fairies" really is the most accurate term for them, since they're not allowed to commit suicide.
And, yes, I'm pretty certain that she's one of those fairies as well. Though I don't know as yet what she's so upset about (unless it's that Annie didn't squash her back in the woods).
As a side-note, one thing that I'm curious about: Annie, Kat, and their classmates are wearing regular clothes at the assembly, but the new girl's wearing the school uniform. Since Parley and Smith were wearing school uniforms in Chapter Fourteen, I doubt that they're meant only for the Year Sevens. Maybe this is some obscure Gunnerkrigg regulation that Tom can clear up soon.
(Also on that note, at first, I thought that Annie was wearing a t-shirt there - which I have a hard time imagining her doing - but since we see in the second panel that she's also wearing a long skirt, it's probably a blouse instead, which seems far more in character for her.)

Good thing you did or I would have. Dig the expressions in the final two panels.

On the side, I wonder where they'll be doing the "week of camping". Gillitie Wood is off-limits to the students, after all - not surprisingly, in light of what we know about it.

They're going camping?! I wonder where since they're so touchy about technology in Gillittie Woods. I don't think the school would risk one of the kids sneaking something in and getting the whole Court is trouble. that must be eglamore on stage. Annie looks a bit pissed off. haha I thought the same exact thing.

There are plenty of places to go camping in the UK, depending where the Court is. Often schools go to their nearest National Park (like on Duke of Edinburgh trips), so Peak District, Lake District, etc., etc.

re. the uniform thing, the school year hasn't started yet so they wouldn't have to be in uniform. Fairie Girl may not have any other human size clothes, could be why she's so POed.

Yes. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
Suicide fairy's expression in the second-to-last panel is made of win.

I noticed the oversized jumper, she could have scrounged or outright stolen her uniform or, if the staff know about the Faerie thing, there could be a box of odds and ends, like spare gym kit [which never fits right of course].

I still wonder if "suicide fairies" really is the most accurate term for them, since they're not allowed to commit suicide. Assisted suicide fairies is just too long a name to use all the time. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't find out what Ray did, but it's nice to see the story move along.

I'm sure the Court is large enough to have a synthetic/holographic forest hidden in it somewhere. Remember the cherry tree?

"Death Fairies"

I wonder what she's angry at Annie about. I can think of at least two possibilities: 1. Annie didn't squash her and the other fairy with the rock, or 2. The Tic-Toc bird business (since the two fairies met Annie in the same area where the "dead" Tic-Toc bird lay, they'd probably be able to link her to all the damage that it caused).
Assuming that the new girl is indeed one of those fairies, it's interesting that she still has pointed ears. Come to think of it, Alistair and his parents, after they became birds, still had human hair. I wonder if there's a connection somewhere (in the sense of general rules about transformations in the Gunnerkrigg/Gillitie area).

The fairies who want to die but need other people to help them, or TFWWTDBNOPTHT?
No, that's way too long.

I think "Death Fairies" would be a great name for a metal band.
But yay! I hope we see blue. Maybe they will go on a quest to kill blue. Or maybe just red will.

Assisted Suicide Fairies?
Edit: Just reread the thread and saw the post I missed, in which that name was already mentioned. But, though it's cumbersome, it seems like the most accurate term. However, I don't really give a hoot about accuracy: Suicide Fairies sounds cool, it's a term that's been in use on the boards for a while, and it's shorter, darn it.

If the guardian of the woods and his god couldn't figure that out, I doubt two fairies could have. I still wonder if "suicide fairies" really is the most accurate term for them, since they're not allowed to commit suicide. Uh.. Self-destructive Fairies?

The difference is that the two fairies were there when Annie landed in the woods, in the same area with the dead Tic-Toc bird, and Ysengrin and Coyote weren't.
