Also, in speculating about why Surma went from Eglamore to Anthony, have people talked about how Reynardine played a role in it? Yup. A dart board, the fleet lobbing flechettes in salvo after salvo of cluster canister shots... Perhaps Eglamore's harsh treatment of the captured demon who had been Surma's friend led her to see Eglamore differently and contributed to their break-up/falling out. Either that, or she claimed partial responsibility and made it loud. And so on. In response to Annie's refusal to turn over Reynardine, Donny compares her to Surma, which makes me think that when Reynardine was first captured, Surma stubbornly advocated for him and probably fought with Eglamore and others about his treatment. www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=109 Really? Why? Surma ended up slamming the door. Annie verbally PWN'd James and walked away with the plushie.

Seems out of character for Rey to just start talking like that. I feel he's trying to convince her of something. Perhaps to not kill Adam, or maybe to reveal herself to him and see if that changes her position without the use of violence. And he's using his own story to explain the different side of such relationships.

Also, I just noticed the detail where Eglamore say's it's been over 5 years since Reynardine had Sivo's body. Since Annie wasn't born yet, it was probably at least 10 years since he took Daniel's body, which makes me wonder if there were other bodies he took in between the two. Doesn't look like we'll get to see that in this chapter though. He says it's been 5 years that they've been trying to "release" Sivo. That could have just been after Renard got captured. Perhaps he had Sivo's body but was free for a long time.

What I still don't get is how did Rey even break free from his bonds without any sort of help? His prison was built so he couldn't possibly get away or swap bodies but it appeared like he just decided one day to leave and broke out

I miss the old art style. Indeed. The art style kinda drew my attention when I first read the comic.

Indeed. The art style kinda drew my attention when I first read the comic. Really? I hated it...good riddance, I say. It was definitely a bit rough, but it had originality. I like to pretend that the art reflects Antimony's personality, and that as she passes out of childhood she begins to literally see the world differently.

It was stylized. It was unique. It had character, unlikely the frankly boring blobby and generic toon-realsim we get today.

I don't hate the old style, but I'm not too fond of it either. Interesting and different, yes, but also too squat for my tastes, and kinda creepy. But not the good kind of creepy. For me, the art has only continued to get better as it's gone along.
