Looks like some time passed between Surma running away and him being confronted by her, Eglamore, Mr. Donlan, and Sivo (his jacket and tie are missing), but a strong link is implied between the two, like she was running off not in blind alarm but to set this last image into motion. I think we've more or less been told this before, but Surma and company were ready to take strong measures against Renard if they thought it necessary.

That'd be Sivo and he was a type of dragon. There was another name for these creatures than a dragon. What precisely, I do not remember. Rogat Orjak. Also, Renard should know this story is all about Heddy now. Sheesh, so rude.

Hetty will abide no angsty flashbacks but her own.
Also, edits go in the edit threads or we'll never find them again!

Thanks! So he had a pendant protecting him, whereas Annie or the plushie didn't! Makes sense. ^^ It's hard to keep all of these details in your head. I think this page explains it even better. A pendant could be lost or broken, a tattoo is way more efficient

She's only running because she thought he was a Goa'uld. Which...golly, he sort of is.

Reynardine probably thought gothic novels were still the bee's knees. I figure human culture is hard to follow when you're an immortal creature of myth.

I'm a little sad that my namesake's importance has been somewhat handwaved here, with Hetty pretty much sighing right over the moment of that character's impending demise. I know it's hard to empathize as deeply with a giant sapient tailless dragonoid, but Mr. Schiff wasn't the only victim here. Renard killed -two- beings, not one.
I suppose some of that could be chalked up to 'expected red-shirt casualty' syndrome.

Hetty: "Pfft! Just grow a swooping bang and start cutting. This trip's about me." We hear you, Hetty. We hear you.

You're a god, Renard. Feel like it. For all the three seconds of bewildered silence.

Hetty's just not having Renard's emotional attachment to mouth breathers.

I'm guessing Adam is middle aged. Maybe Hetty will notice Renard's mood and we may get to see some flashbacks with Surma. First time I guessed something right though it is kind of obvious. I wonder how Surma felt about Renard when she found out that any body he possesses will die once he leaves it.

Shouldn't Renard have already known that he would die? Didn't we seem him experimenting with animals and them dying at some point or am I completely making this up?

That eye marking... That was on the wall in the room where Rey/Sivo was as well. I'm sure it has been asked and answered many times before, but how come Rey couldn't get out of Sivo and take over Eglamore? I'm thinking it might have something to to with that eye? Or maybe it just was that he didn't want to kill Eglamore. Donny and Eglamore have a tattoo of that symbol, and Anja has a necklace with that symbol.

Not definitely experimenting, but the consequences of his possession were shown. However, he almost certainly hadn't possessed a human before, so - as Coyote said - he couldn't be completely sure that the same thing would happen as it did with animals.

So it is; the hair is a dead giveaway. I wasn't paying enough attention. So Surma didn't directly help capture Renard. Not something she was capable of, or not something she wanted to actually have to do herself?

Say, could anyone provide a version of Hetty sighing, with a transparent background? Here you go.

I can't find the comic right now (The rogat orjak tags in the comic tagging project haven't all been completed!) but I'm sure it was mentioned that he'd only been in Sivo for 8 years or something, which should be a while after this. Annie is like, 14 now? So he must have been in a different body until he jumped to Sivo (Either Daniel all this time, or another body).

Well, there's this page, where Eglamore says "It's been over five years." Yes that's prob what I'm thinking of. sounds like it was only 5-6 or so years ago at that point that renard took sivo, so must have stayed in Daniel or another animal (presumably animal as the court assumed he could only take living things until the doll.)

Probably, but it does not quite rule out the possibility that he was talking about them actively trying to save Sivo, and that they had been doing so only since capturing Sivo-Rey, which in turn could have happened years after he took Sivo.
Not quite, though I'll admit it's a stretch.

There was another name for these creatures than a dragon. What precisely, I do not remember. It's been mentioned already, but not translated yet: »rogàt orják« is Slovene for »horned giant« or »horned colossus«, pronounced with tapped Rs as in Italian, and »j« like English »y« in »yeoman«. The A makes the same sound as in French »amour«. The words are marked for stress and pitch; you wouldn't usually write the accent. Now, although »rog« or some variation thereof is a common word across all Balto-Slavic languages, »orjak« is exclusive to the Western Balkans (Serbo-Croatian has »orjaš«). The original Slavic root for »giant« is »velik'-« — and indeed, the word »velikán« exists in Slovene. Therefore, I suppose »orjak« and »orjaš« are loanwords from a neighbouring language, either from Italian »orco« (orc, ogre) or Hungarian »óriás« (giant, ogre). Both words appear to stem from Latin »Orcus«, the name of an Underworld god who punishes oath-breakers. He ultimately got his name from Ancient Greek »hórkos«, which means »oath«. And for the record, »sivo« is Slovene for »grey«, though only in the neuter singular nominative. In other words, it appears that Sivo's gender was unknown when he or she was named. So there's that!
