Annie? She spotted Parley & Smitface right away, and they didn't even blush. She may have a misinterpretation, but short of that... Why do you think she doesn't see anything?. It's the page comment. Also Smitty and Parley were really, painfully obvious. We haven't really seen enough of Paz/Kat to see how they interact in public. |

I wonder if Renard has stuffed his body with extra equipment for the night's inevitable hijinks? He's had Annie's lockpicks inside him for a while; maybe his chubbiness is caused by an upgraded arsenal?

Renard changed his body before Annie entered. Perhaps not to give away the fact he misses his Fox body.
The chapter is called quicksilver, which is a term for mercury, mercury being seen as a transformative metal in alchemy. So this chapter is going to be about Renard trying to get his body back i think.
And yeah, Renard still needs to ask Annie's permission to do stuff, she still owns him.

Can he be "upgraded"? Even upgrade himself? Could he use Coyote's tooth (if he still has it) in a similar manner? Or are these extra appendages limited to the stuff that was already hidden inside him (that sounds wrong...) when he possessed the wolf plushie? |

Perhaps he'll tease her (hopefully not enough to make her feel bad or doubt herself), or add a bit of an "I did tell you" to the mix. Or maybe he'll be easily accepting.

Interesting that as soon as he heard Antimony knock at the door he changed from wolf-shape to doll-shape. I wonder why that is.

He tries to appear less than threatening? Oh, that'd be an awesome coming out scene. Kat: "...I'm with " *dramatic hesitation* " ...Paz" Annie: "Yes, you are. What's your point?" Yup. And then, cue a few jet engines worth of hot air in comments. It seems reasonable to assume Kat's feelings for Paz may actually be mutual given those last couple panels, but I'm more concerned about Renard. He may get overjoyed and in need of some stitches? For some reason I always assumed he was following Annie in plush form in her bag He did, but some students absolutely diidn't expect thi-i-i-i-is.  |

There's nothing to indicate this is the case other than Tom might be planning to move some plot points along but I wonder if Reynard might just be off to visit the grave of the man he killed (or something along those lines). Or perhaps he's trying to track down Antony. Either way, I think we're going to be building on established ground.
Also, Annie's face in panel three is adorable.

Yeah, I've actually had that for a while, but until the upgrade, ProBoards didn't set the character encoding to Unicode by default, so most people probably just saw random characters. I was going to do Antimony, but- although there's a spot reserved in Unicode for the alchemical symbol for antimony- no common fonts support it. There's one for mercury though, so I used that.

Annie tend to be quite matter-of-factly about relationships and mentions them at all only when she got something to say (or ask) - be it Kat&Alistair, George&Andrew or Gamma&Zimmy&Jack.  |

Also, I was wondering, whether the body switch was intentional at all. Occasionally, he may drift to that shape in his sleep. That may be telling of something. As for the Kat/Paz story, I'm thinking (and hoping) that it will be in the background, this chapter. Though I'm curious, as to how that conversation will go, our own friend's romances don't take the front stage often. Besides, blush-inspiring relations are suppose to be organic, not a story arc. |
