Index page updated: 1246 pages indexed, 367 tags defined I’ve reformatted the chapter cover page entries a bit to make them stand out more and make the association to the chapter’s pages clearer. How to handle the filler pages though? They are recognisable blocks, outside the main flow of the story, but do not have covers I can use to separate them off in the current scheme.

Ooh, I'm really liking the new chapter headings!
I guess filler pages could be seperated out by a heading too, and a description perhaps? Would that work?

Ok. I've defined the first page of the holiday breaks as a cover, called 'em an intermission rather than an chapter and formatted them the same way as the ‘real’ chapters. Does that work?
If so I'll tag the runs as ‘intermission’ rather than ‘filler‘ perhaps?

Right ho, I'll feed that into the repo next time I'm editing.
PS: everyone else: input, comment, feedback all appreciated…

Index page updated: 1255 pages indexed, 369 tags defined I’ve tweeked the format a little so the page comment/description precedes the character tags, which looks a bit clearer to my eye. I’ve also changed the font to Verdana / Helvetica / sans-serif for slightly better readability though overall the page needs more white space, perhaps even a layout rethink.

Not sure how you best want updates to the database (aside from the most recent comics) - While doing some research, I discovered Firespike is also on 1040 on the fire elemental (not all elementals have spikes visible, and as we see not all spikes are on obvious fire elementals)

Posting here is fine! one of us can put it into the source material.
HOWEVER... if you're interested in making a lot of edits, then I recommend either joining the github (instructions on first page of this topic), or downloading the index.txt and alltags.txt from the github, making your alterations and messaging/emailing either me or louis.
Thanks btw!

Sullivan's John [citation needed]
Why is John, the mandolin player and Margo’s squeeze, tagged as SullivansJohn?
From the folk song I assume, but why - I have not noticed a reference in-comic.

SPRITZ YOU'RE BACK!!!! And yes pretty much that. I'm not averse to changing it to simply John (with John Sullivan and Sullivan's John in the description) if you guys think it's clearer. Also I'm back home for the first time in quite some time! So can help update

Sullivan... In my diseased human mind I find it twisting this name into a giant blue horned monster. ...yet again a name I did not recall immediately ...or knew it in the first place.

I was sure there was a second John somewhere, so a need to distinguish, but on a search there only seems to be this one. JohnDullivan would have made more sense anyway even if there were two!

JohnSullivan I think does the job better now that you point it out. it turns up in search and it turns up in the right place alphabetically while being specific to that John.

I've gone with John, and explanation in the tag entry. Most of the other people are single word, forename, tags so why should John Sullivan be different? (Also: shorter) Index page updated: 1268 pages indexed, 373 tags defined (and GitHub too once snipertom does her merge thing.)

Okay, I am trying very hard not to think about it. But now I've got a blue furry monster with brown lanky hair playing a mandolin with Margo singing. ...DAHELL IS UP WITH THAT BRAIN?! Yes, well, it sounds like it... fits? Wait, are we debating on whether to reverse John and Sullivan, or just deciding if to say each on it's own?

by the way the new formatting looks great! much clearer, that's for sure You might like to keep an eye on the test page for a bootstrapped version of the index. I intend to move over to bootstrap from blueprint css sometime. Early days yet – about 15 minutes tinkering right now (1) – still playing around trying not to break anything we have while I look what I can use from bootstrap’s repertoire of tricks. Responsive columns are nice… www.louisxiv.co.uk/gunnerkrigg/boot.html(1) It’s a boring Sunday afternoon. What exciting thing can I do to drive off the Sunday Gribbles? I know! I’ll change my css base and reformat a website… Sweet!

Just in case it is something I’ve done. Nah, just checked with another browser. it's some issue with the latest opera builds, don't worry! I'm planning on making it so that the chapter thingy at the top sticks to the top when you scroll down if you think that might be a good idea? The bootstrap build looks nice! I've never used bootstrap... what's it like?
