Oh, my. Renard is quite the poet, isn't he? Any architecture buffs able to place a general place/time on those buildings? I'm sure it's not super relevant, but it'd be interesting to know where and when Renarrd is referencing that scene from.

Renard is French, so I would assume it takes place there.

I think the link to Comic 3 by Renard, links to Kat's comic. This is a really nice one! I didn't know he was such a great artist - and he put in a very powerful message too. Somehow, I wasn't expecting that from himNow that I think about it, all three of these comics have had some sort of morals at the end (though, I guess it could be debatable as to what they are exactly ) I think Annie's would be our tendency to search everywhere but within ourselves - where things truly matter. Kat's is "just be friends and stuff", with perhaps a commentary on the uselessness of wars and fighting. And Rey's is pretty obvious... I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking this. Do you think the morals will carry through to the other mini comics?

I know Renard is a French name, but I don't know if Renard was actually of French origin (does anybody know?)
Whatever the case, I am actually beginning to appreciate his romantic and artistic side. He has quite the eye for classical art styles.
lunarluminesce: I'm not entirely sure Tom means these to be morals, so much, but rather reflections on the "artist" behind the guest comics. Kat does not seem to enjoy the ongoing war between Court and Forest, so why don't we just all be friends? Renard claims that humans could never want an absence of nature (perhaps a hinting back to his love for Surma and a desire for her to love him, a creature of the Forest, in return)

A quick wikipedia research told me that the origin of the character Renard is not entirely clear. It goes back to stories written in Latin in the 11th to 12th century. The first one possibly being Ecbasis captivi in which a fox plays a major role but has no name, which comes from St. Evre near Toul, France. The epic Ysengrimus apparently first named the fox "Reinardus" and was written in Gent, Belguim.

Coupled with the French name, I think it's a good bet. (I'm trying to remember if it was explicitly stated) Though, the myth of Renard the fox itself can be found in a few other European countries as well. And yes. Your comment makes more sense I think. It's really interesting...

I wonder if any other details in the epic provide some insight into the things that aren't outright stated in GC. Shall do some research this weekend, methinks. Tom said he imagined Renard with a mild French accent, and Coyote found him with Ysengrin in Europe. Coupled with the French name, I think it's a good bet. I suspect the reason he refused to let anyone see him draw the comic is because he used the hands of that body to do so. He didn't want to go back into his box.

Does anyone else find themselves playing 'guess the artist' with each new 'guest' page? Artists so far: Probable future artists: Assuming all ten comics are drawn by different artists, that leaves four unaccounted for. (Maybe five, if Mort can't hold a brush; since he's, well...) Possible future artists: - Parley
- Smitty
- Zimmy
- Gamma
- Paz
- Matt
- Will
- Janet
- John
- Margo
- Jack
- Red?
- Basil?
- Bud?
- Kat's Parents?
- Jones?
That's about everyone I can think of who'd be willing to draw something. Let the speculation commence!

I'm guessing Robot, Shadow, Paz, Jack, Red, Zimmy, Gamma.
If I get at least three of those right I will be a happy camper.

Deep and chuckle-inducing. Well done, Renard.
Plus, the pigeon's all seeing and judgmental eye... it penetrates!

I'd love to see the Principal draw a comic...somehow, I have the feeling it'll be propaganda of some sort.

I'd like to see one by Jones, he experiences of seeing the history of the Earth would give her an interesting perspective. Not sure if she's capable of artistic work though

Not sure if she's capable of artistic work though Now I'm thinking Jones's comic would be about the typical day of an ordinary, non-sapient pigeon. I bet Shadow did the boxy pigeon. It must take lots of dedication to learn how to draw Fixedsys letters by hand! Congratulations, Shadow.

Apperantly Robots have taste buds?

This is a cute comic, but I find it a bit funny how what I assume is Robot's pigeon comments on the seeds' taste when Robot probably doesn't have a sense of taste.

Apperantly Robots have taste buds? Why not? They're just chemical receptors.

Why not? They're just chemical receptors. Mostly because they don't have mouths...

Haha! This one's adorable. And once again there's a nice message and as exdevlin said, reflection of the characters who drew it.

I'd love to see the Principal draw a comic...somehow, I have the feeling it'll be propaganda of some sort. So, uh... the Court needs you to go... fight the trees, or something. I'm Jonathan Llanwellyn, and I get paid handsomely, but apparently not enough to give a fuck. [/li][li]Zimmy [/li][li]Gamma [/quote] Zimmy is illiterate and Gamma doesn't know English. Gamma uderza mnie jako kogoś, kto jest dobry w rysunku. Actually, that should be "kto¶" instead of "kogo¶" (unless you mean that you're the one good at drawing.)

Kat's contribution to Mort's comic is kind of depressing!
