The new archive system has made it considerably harder to navigate to the City Faces and other extras. Basically you have to know beforehand in between which chapters they are and navigate to one of those chapters and proceed page by page from there. The archive for Gastrophobia has links to (almost all) extras at the bottom.

Here's another thing about the archive page: you can't go directly to any of the title pages, since these are effectively pre-selected in the dropdown thingies. When you try to select them, the page thinks you're just fooling around and nothing has actually changed.

Click on the chapter box itself to go to the start of it.

Archive page looks good! Little utilitarian, but that's fine.
Edit: Store link to Topatoco does not work. :< Edit edit: Seems all of Topatoco is down, never mind.

Still no way to navigate to City Face and extras. can always use the new unofficial search index for all tags including City Face: www.louisxiv.co.uk/gunnerkrigg/

User-made multi-step fuzzy-warm work-arounds are fine and well but it would be useful to have links to all extras, guest comics and treatises at the bottom of the archive page.

Is anyone else having problems with the board? Stuff like, when I click on the New button to jump to new posts in a thread, it'll go to the page with the new posts but won't actually scroll down to them. The little bar with the links to various pages in the thread doesn't stay at the top of the page as I scroll down. The drop down menu for marking all thread read and the like seems to have gone completely missing. I can't preview posts anymore, no matter how many times I click on the preview tab. The thread summary shown while I'm making posts shows the first page of the thread instead of the latest. And so on and so forth.
It's become rather bothersome.

Before I went out and bought a new machine I noticed that the new forum was very memory intensive and things were lagging. It could also be connection speed. Weird things happened with the old site, but they would go away after a few hours/days.

Whats browser are you running? Firefox. The problem is also present in Explorer (not that that's a surprise), but I just now found that it isn't happening in Chrome. Not sure why it would suddenly start happening for me in Firefox, tho' . . . it was working just fine until a few days ago. I've considered switching to Chrome before, but I just like Firefox way too much to abandon it!

And now I get back home from work and the whole thing is working just fine again! Was the forum just waiting for me to complain before giving everything back to make me look like a crazy person?

When Proboards first changed over I did get an odd error when trying to reply to posts. The post I was quoting would appear in the box (as it should) but then several seconds later, after I started typing into the box, another quote from a different post would appear, then another and another and finally the page I was quoting from would reload. I think it had something to do with other posts being made to the thread because I could get it to repeat in a new-update thread with another browser but not in a stagnant one. But after the first week or so I could no longer get the error to repeat. I suppose it doesn't matter now but did anyone else get anything like that?

I think Tom might want to check if the server is built over an Indian burial ground.

As long as this thread is reincarnated, might as well say that if one of Amazon's server farms is built over an indian burial ground, than that might explain a LOT of online computer errors.

I don't mean to be politically correct here, I don't believe in that stuff, but I think you mean native American burial ground.

Well, either one could probably cause problems.
