Damn girl. Be careful.
This is a god you're talking to, not Mr. Hidey-Ho Tim Taylor across the street. I doubt he has an infinite reserve of patience for mortals calling his bluff.

Last panel pretty priceless.
On a rather unrelated note, has anybody noticed that the colors of the speech bubbles between Annie and Coyote have switched? Especially if you compare the thing from other Coyote chapters like The Old Dog's Tricks.

Judging from that bead of sweat in panel 2, Annie's having a hard time standing up to Coyote's epic doggie-breath.

Speaking from memory, Farmer Giles' dog could speak in three forms of Latin: - the vulgar tongue he used on salesmen - the bullying tongue he used on other dogs - and the wheedling tongue he used on his master.
On that scale it looks like an Annie win.

The mighty face asking for something with dignity and humbleness, the really terrifyingly powerful may not be aware that the experience should be humbling.
(I wanted to post something quotable that basically says the powerful people would feel too ashamed to compomise other people's view of them with such a... display? while Coyote is so insanely powerful that he just doesn't (and doesn't need to!) give two fucks about it. But I can't put it into words any better than the above.)

Hah! Annie knows what's up. You gotta know this is why Coyote enjoys her company -- he probably gets bored of all the forest creatures blandly sucking up and staying out of his way. She doesn't do that, but she isn't outright hostile/dismissive like most of the court. This is what makes a good medium, I imagine -- understanding the personality, and not letting all the crazy magic shit get to you and override your good sense.

Oh Coyote, have you no dignity? I think Coyote would see "dignity" as something that gets in the way of hilarity. If he can get Annie to crack a smile and say "all right, here's a story" then job complete. If Annie stoics him out again, then we might see Coyote get actually annoyed! But I bet she cracks. Incidentally, I love the way Tom uses that subtle sweatdrop to show that Annie is not quite as cool in the face of Coyote's roar as she makes out.

apparently being a medium entails being something of a babysitter when it comes to Coyote.

Phew, so he was just kidding around. Good for everyone's health.
Coyote's shown a whole congaline of childishness here - first commanding her, being stubborn and petty about it, getting angry and when that doesn't work resorting to pleading and begging (complete with rolling on the ground.) He r a serious god, the seriousest of them all.
Annie should totally cave here, just look at him Annie! And we all want to hear the big secret anyway...

I think for maximum impact and for great justice, Coyote's voice needs to be heard as John de Lancie's. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does....

I know it's tempting to make de Lancie do the voice of every chaotic neutral trickster god in existence, but I imagine something higher pitched and even more flippant in this case.

Behold the majestic display of an alpha coyote asserting his dominance over his lessers!
He's still got the sharp teeth in the last panel. I hope that he doesn't decide to nibble Annie's ankles, next.
