Things are getting all kind of wacky up in here.

Eyeless Annie is kinda creepy.
Also that weird second panel where her arms appear to be emerging from her own arms like some sort of sick "Annie within the Annie"

Apparently the forearms of her shirt shatter like porcelain... leaving perfect short sleeves? That is a weird panel. Her arms look unnaturally long to me in that frame. The shattered sleeves and elongated arms remind me of this animation: (HOMESTUCK SPOILERS!) www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006011Hence my description of "Annie within the Annie"

She wore shorter sleeves during the forest scene too. They changed to long sleeves during the cherry-tree scene. Short digging (last chapter) shows her wearing long sleeves there as well.
Annie is weakened - clearly, since she's in the hospital. This just shows that her affliction isn't merely physical, but also psychic / etheric. Speaking of etheric, Zimmy's jumping into Annie's ether-hair... wtf mate.

Short sleeves, huh? I bet this has nothing to do with anything that happened during a summer.

The imagery in the last panel is a bit unfortunate. I'm not especially dirty minded but it REALLY reminded me of something.
The rest of it is just weird. Obviously no answers forthcoming any time soon! At least no visible appearance of spiders.

Yeah, it took me a few seconds to understand that her shirt was being shredded. I thought her arm was developing gashes down to the bone.
I really like this page, though. It's pretty and weird. The idea of Annie having no fight in her makes me super sad. I like how Zimmy softened up a lot and gave her the mask. Zims is selfish and abrasive, but not cruel.
Am I the only one reminded a bit of Inception? I wonder if dream Kat is going to attack Zimmy. :-P

So... She got something from the forest? Like Jack at the power station? Everyone is getting weird stuff carried around whenever they go some place they don't belong to!
Enough of that. The cut is supposed to fit in there somewhere, maybe we'll be taken to the ravine this time around? Or maybe it's about the make up? She lost some of it while eating cherries (the lipstick), and I believe Tom stated Jones got her make up while she was in the forest explaining how she came back with it from there.
Edit: typos.

Looking somewhere else... (Bound to be a few pigeons in there somewhere!)
I am confused by Zimmy saying Carver's got no fight in her, as Annie retrieves the mask. (It didn't *look* like Zimmy let her have it)

It does look like she handed it back, look at her hand.
(Also, the tree being ripped from the ground looks awesome)

Oh and - you know those storm clouds mean something. Its Tom showing a little conflict. I guess if you wanted to really dig at it thematically, Antimony is leaned up against the tree because she's at heart a denizen of the forest, or at least her predecessor was at one point. Zimmy of course is the storm-cloud, because she's charged with etheric energy (and because she's grouchy as hell). The imagery in the last panel is a bit unfortunate. I'm not especially dirty minded but it REALLY reminded me of something. >.< Goddamn it, now I see it too.

Eyeless Annie is kinda creepy. "Superpowered zombie mode activation... complete". Also that weird second panel where her arms appear to be emerging from her own arms like some sort of sick "Annie within the Annie" But that's kind of exactly what happens, no? Annie emerges from her dream images. Except there's still no scar. So... is Zimmy about to be clobbered by fully automated innate defences stronger and much less lucid than herself, of the sort she didn't know about or expect (she probably still thinks Annie is a more or less normal human being)? Zimmy: As confused as the rest of us. Aye. Is it possible that Zimmy got way over her head now?

Well, I still have no idea what's going on, so i guess I'll just stop by to say that this page is positively gorgeus, what with all the fancy lighting and beautiful colors n' all that stuff.

The green forest dudes also have no eyes, or keep them shut like that anyway. And the eyes on the mask are closed.
Hmm, is Annie being willfully blind to something? Is she dealing with something by wearing a "mask" and refusing to acknowledge it? Burying her face in the ground?

The mask represents Antimony's make up.

The mask represents Antimony's make up. I don't disagree with this, but it does jive with some other theories regarding her eyeshadow- ie that it is "surma", the spiritually protective eyeliner and also her mother.

Kats eyes are open because she wasn't actually there.

I mean in the comic more generally, rather than just in the dream. Green dudes keep their eyes shut the whole time. Like annie is doing here.

Eyeless Annie is kinda creepy. Also that weird second panel where her arms appear to be emerging from her own arms like some sort of sick "Annie within the Annie" Uh...what? Annie is neither eyeless nor are arms emerging from her arm. I'm having trouble imagining how you would see that. Apparently the forearms of her shirt shatter like porcelain... leaving perfect short sleeves? That is a weird panel. To me it looked like her sleeves where dissolving into the shorter sleeves of a different shirt. Like the transition to different clothes we've seen with her throughout this chapter. I am confused by Zimmy saying Carver's got no fight in her, as Annie retrieves the mask. (It didn't *look* like Zimmy let her have it) It did to me. She's sitting on the ground, Carver does not seem to be lucid enough to actually fight if she had it in her, and is most likely just handing it back. Also, Raph: The tree isn't being ripped from the ground, the scene is just is dissolving (we've seen something similar with Mort's illusions). Come on guys, Tom isn't that bad of an artist.

Guys, wait, that symbolism from the last couple pages... And now she's bedridden.
Oh god, you don't think shes pregnant do you? I mean like magically of course... maybe...

Ogee. That... that would be completely unexpected and super-ultra-mega not good. 8'( I don't think so. But, wow, if that were the case... it'd certainly put a time limit on them working out all this Jeanne stuff. Or maybe she could have an abortion. I wonder how that would work. :/
EDIT: what am I saying, this is clearly impossible. That'd all be waaaaaaay too dark, right?

Oh god, you don't think shes pregnant do you? I mean like magically of course... maybe... That was discussed a few pages ago, but the general consensus is that that's not the case. There just hasn't been any foreshadowing to this, and it would be pretty uncharacteristic of Tom to just drop that kind of bombshell out of nowhere. I'm still more inclined to believe that the etheric scar inflicted by Jeanne is at fault here. But thanks for the mental image of Zimmy as an etheric abortionist.

Not even if that's what she's been hiding so obsessively? To the point where it has her and her friends stuck in some kind of disconnected space before they could discover it in the hospital?

I feel it is unlikely for this to be the case. Unless she's magically revived when she gives birth to slowly die raising her daughter, this doesn't seem like a thing she would go through when pregnant. Especally since it seems to be less dying fire and more etheric coma. Jessie stop it, that is some serious conjecture with no backing whatsoever.

So far there just isn't any evidence of that sort of thing. It's a pretty big leap to go from "she's hiding something" to "she's pregnant", especially when there isn't really an indication that she is hiding anything of significance. I mean, with Kat her mask dropped entirely, and only covered up copied homework. I think it's fairly clear that it means that Annie is open about almost everything to Kat, except unfortunate little things like that, not that she has a huge secret she has to hide.
