And once again we see that Zimmy is actually a lot smarter and a lot more on top of things than she lets on. She still is kind of a jerk, though.

..O-kay. It also looks like the pigeon is Kat's inner/etheric self.
I wonder if that's what the robots have been seeing?

Random Factoid: I have sometimes heard pigeons referred to as "skyrats" around where I live.
Lucky for Kat Zimmy and Gamma aren't chummy with many people so they can't spread any Kat/Paz misinformation around easily.
Also: No funny Zimmy shadow at all in today's comic.

I love the flinty glare that the pigeon gives when Kat tells Robot to kick them out. Well drawn.

To me this confirms the nightmare theory, you know this dream when something is bothering/attacking you and your friends are here but they completely ignore it or are asleep and won't wake up when you call for help???

Certainly does seem like Kat's the one with the problem, that Zimmy has to help... Jup. Random Factoid: I have sometimes heard pigeons referred to as "skyrats" around where I live. In The Hague, pidgeons are called flying rats. Not that I've ever lived in The Hague. I know this because of a television program. Is that time stop? I don't think so. It's probably not reality, but either Kat's or Zimmy's mind.

To whoever managed to notice there was importance in the fact Renard didn't wake up in Zimmy's presence has deserved my cookies.

Certainly does seem like Kat's the one with the problem, that Zimmy has to help... Probably true, but Annie does figure into it somehow. I don't see Zimmy being so violently reluctant to help Kat. Sure, she might be dismissive of Kat's problems, but she wouldn't try to run away, and the scar-thingy still connects to Annie, not Kat. I see this problem as something that is shared between Kat and Annie, with Kat being the active party whose support is required in order to get Annie out from whatever trouble she is in.

I think it's real
So Zimmy has Telepathy and Time stop now? I just noticed the bluish gradient that appeared when Zimmy entered is similar to the effect of the TimeStop thingy Coyote used.
It's also interesting that she can do something that even affects Renard...

She still is kind of a jerk, though. Agreed - which can only be excused (if it can be excused at all) by: a) her constant torment probaby makes it hard for her to empathize with anyone else. b) she might think, or half-think, that Gunnerkrigg and its inhabitants are all just one of her hallucinations and that any moment now, she'll wake up and discover that she and Gamma never left Birmingham - in which case, why should she care about the problems that the Court's inhabitants are having?

Maybe she didn't do something that affected Renard, Shadow and Robot, but rather something that affected only Kat. Disconnected her from the "real world" or something like that. I'm leaning this way. Perhaps it is Kat's nightmare scenario that's playing out here, with everyone else being a halted prop and her inner voice unlocked as a pigeon (which I'm dubbing I.V.P.). If so, even if Zimmy is abrasive, it means she's really trying to be helpful when she's just not used to this sort of thing. You have to give her credit for going that far, especially since it seems contact with others seems to imperil her own identity.

Hopefully next page involves Kat jump kicking something.

If Kat is really the one that needs help (rather than Antimony), it makes this make a lot more sense. There is far more animosity between Kat and Zimmy than there is between Antimony and Zimmy.

First thoughts: - It was a rat with wings.
- My sincere apologies to all rats for (1).
- Well, someone did rat on her, all right...
- Hmm... Zimmy may know that Paz works with rodents, why not.
- Oh noes! Annie pricked her finger and now the whole Court sleeps. Even golems.
And once again we see that Zimmy is actually a lot smarter and a lot more on top of things than she lets on. She still is kind of a jerk, though. Well, yeah. That's one fierce PigeonHAWk! ;D I just noticed the bluish gradient that appeared when Zimmy entered is similar to the effect of the TimeStop thingy Coyote used. This? No, they're not discoloured. It's just standard horspital Dead Light Lamps.

What does Tom's comment mean? Pro ice? She tried to pull a Nice Guy Clemenza style "Joey! Escort these jokers to the door!" move, and it fell flat because everyone is snoozing. I think that's what he's talking about. On a separate note, do you guys think Tom is going to seriously pursue the narrative of Kat as confused/lesbian or is this just a running gag/friendly ribbing? I say this not as a part-time pervert, but as someone who has a little sister about Kat's age who is trying to figure out what the hell she is (it aint straight, that's all I can glean). I think it would be an interesting move to say the least.

I'm originally from New England, and we have always referred to pigeons as "rats of the sky" or "sky rats."
But anyway, I think the theory that Zimmy is actually doing something to Kat, not Renard, Robot, and Shadow is interesting. But if Zimmy is capable of doing whatever it is that she's doing and having it effect Renard, that opens up even more questions about her.

This sort of thing is a little too serious and character-developmenty for it to be a running gag, I think. It doesn't look like this chapter will be dealing with it, but it's definitely leading up to it -- even more so than some of the other comments that have been made previously.

Kat's expression in the second to last panel is pretty freaky. Also, Gamma looks very sympathethic in the last one.
Also, this has me dwelling on the chapter title. Pigeons are often associated with divinity and the communication of human world with the supernatural. And now Kat, regarded as an angel by the robots suddenly has a pigeon smack dab on her head... Makes me feel like there's one connection I'm missing that would make it all make sense ;D
I'm also getting the feeling that the hospital scene itself is real, but Zimmy somehow pulled Kat's conciousness into some other level with her and Gamma. Maybe Zimmy can help Annie by helping Kat?

I suspect that Zimmy did get the information from the rats, most literally. The lab rats that Paz takes care of and doubtless talks at about random things that are on her mind. If anyone in the Gunnerverse is going to be regularly communicating with rats, that would be Zimmy.
(also, hello.)
