I didn't know that... does he act like one? Actually, I don't know too much about America. Other than that the stuff can be cheaper than in Canada.

It's odd, because I don't hear myself as having an accent, yet obviously I do.
I wonder what it is. I know I don't talk like other people here in the southwest.

There really isn't a distinct 'Arizona accent', I tend to consider it a General American with a touch of Californian (They are right there), and maybe just a hind of Southern (Listen for people saying the words Pen, Men, When, and so forth).

Seemed like good emotion...but too British. Also, not hysterical enough. Just saying I've always imagined Coyote putting on a fake English accent because he's in England and it amuses him. And I've never thought of him as hysterical, simply . . . energetic.

It really depends on the person.

Coughcoughanycommentsonmyaudition? Anyatall? Guys...? Don't hold the mic so close to your face, your voice will be clearer. If you're going to use audio manipulation, I would recommend a lower pitch modulation as opposed to a higher one.

I apologize for my tiny attention span ...it sounds kind of hoarse, like he has a cold... and a bit... feminine at times? Kind of high in pitch for me to imagine as Coyote, but it's better than I would've done

Ylsh. I was going to dust off my Scotch Brogue and try for Donny, but I played back what I had and I realized that I most definitely do not sound like Donny.

Kind of unfortunate that this is its own board instead of a child of the Discussion one. I only noticed this because I accidentally brought up the menu, and the New button was showing

I'd be willing to do an audition for Jones once Chapter 14 comes around.

Good day, everyone! New to the forums here and joined pretty much explicitly because I saw this little beauty! In fact, I would like to get involved and am currently reading through the threads. I'll put in an audition for a part or two at some point, as I do so -love- doing voices.
I look forward to chatting with everyone on this project. It does seem exciting!

Folks, I don't know where this is right now, but I'd like to ask to audition for Jones. I'm a woman in my late 40s whose voice has been characterized as calm, professional, neutral, and accentless. I'm an American, but here in Ireland and in the UK, people have told me with a puzzled look that "you don't sound American, but I am not sure what you do sound like". Someone else has told me I sound like an announcer for CNN World News. Perhaps I'd be uniquely suited for the role.

Folks, I don't know where this is right now, but I'd like to ask to audition for Jones. I'm pretty sure that the project is currently dead or at the very least very very deeply asleep, but I'm also pretty sure that no one would object to hearing you read for Jones or anyone else trying out for any other part.

I find I can pick out fellow native Zonies and people who have been here since they started learning to talk. They often have bits and pieces of the family accent, but there is this really smooth blend of everything else in it. Also, we tend to pronounce the spanish words correctly, heh. I am.. seriously tempted to record a coyote. even if its dead. also, for those curious as to what laughing coyotes sound like www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNIa4qK4IkM www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjUCS1Qm5_o

If memory serves, she was originally from a southern US state. Then she moved to Arizona and was working at a law office there for a number of years. ...and then went on a two week vacation to Ireland. As I recall, she described her accent upon her return as "Some form of Irish-Hispanic..." (by the time I met her, she'd shifted entirely into a Midwestern one). ....and how to tell if someone's a local around my area? Ask them what the strip of grass between the sidewalk and street is called. If it's "tree lawn", it's almost a guarantee they're from the Cleveland, OH area (which I'm on the west side of). If it's "the Devil's strip", there's only one place in the US they're likely to be from: Akron, Ohio (south of Cleveland).
