Looks like she bailed out so fast that she actually gave her real self a physical recoil. They need to earn their names. Also one more to the thousandth comic!

I'll likely forget it then, so I'm mentioning it now.

I imagine them returning to their bodies and slowly shambling towards Annie...
Chanting: "Naaaaames..... naaaaaames...."

I think we can all agree this was bound to happen. Eep! That zap doesn't sound too good. Blinker> Error: the snapback connection is lost. Reason: unknown. Blinker> Error: This session was terminated abnormally. Please don't move and keep Your eyes closed until emergency memory synchronization process finishes. Searching...Depending on how old dat thing is, of course.

So this escape is Annie's nine-nine-nine plan. [please don't kill me.]Also, there was ethereal backlash getting separated from her body. Now there's physical backlash getting back in. Related?

The stupid thing needs to spit out a stacktrace soon if Annie has any chance of finding out what went wrong! At least the thing didn't red-screen and she was left there in the either. (Couldn't help myself ;D )

I'm guessing it's very jarring to return to your body. especially when it's your first time having been fully separated from it.
oh and if her body was learning science while she was playing, she'll take a bit of adjusting to single memories with dual focus points. it's quite confusing at first. same time signature but a memory seen from two locations at the same time. or two separate events and locations for the same time signature. either way very confusing for normal people to experience.
And running isn't going to help you Annie. the class will just wake up and start pestering you in the real world. you'll still have to name them.

"Miss Jones! I need to borrow some of your names!" Oh! Exactly! I forgot this one. ;D oh and if her body was learning science while she was playing, she'll take a bit of adjusting to single memories with dual focus points. it's quite confusing at first. same time signature but a memory seen from two locations at the same time. There's no time signature, it's a stream. Which doesn't make things much easier, of course. Still gotta pick up parts of the mirror and make them make sense. you'll still have to name them. Either that, or disavow the first naming (that would be preferrable, really).

That answers the question of if she will have any difficulty returning to her body.

I'm guessing it's very jarring to return to your body. especially when it's your first time having been fully separated from it. Seems more like she did it really fast. The physical reaction is similar to when she tried to use the blinker stone in the forest for the first time, which had the same effect of being in a dark room and very bright lights suddendly turned on.

I heard Annie saying that first line in a perfectly flat voice. "Oh what have I done." Also dat face in the penultimate panel.

Since shadow already has a name, I wonder what consequences that'll bring about...... Does Shadow have a name? I doubt 'Shadow' counts, since completely descriptive monikers like 'fish-boy' don't. Of course, 'Red' is a descriptive too, but I suppose it's less complete and a bit more metaphorical. Or maybe it counts because Antimony was thinking of it as her name when she said it.

Just wondering, has anyone else been seeing all the fairy-kids word bubbles in the same color or is it just me?

Just wondering, has anyone else been seeing all the fairy-kids word bubbles in the same color or is it just me? It isn't just you. In some of the panels there isn't even any sign of which one is speaking -- maybe it's an aspect of the etheric realm? Or just the fact that it doesn't really matter whose words they are in those cases?

... same time signature... The same!? Hardly! Look at that etheric realm, that's got to be skipping along at brisk 6/8 or 2/4, with triplets. In contrast the real world is far too boring to exist in anything but 4/4. Perhaps a 12/8 depending on circumstances but certainly no faster than 3/4. And of course you can't possibly call this anything less than a serious 2/2 situation! Flashbacks of high school music theory causing momentary system overload, please stand by.

Very good choice with the Schlock. and yes time is better though of as 1-D strings or streams of energy weaving and twisting with other time strings in 2 or 3 dimensions of time. but if you are thinking of them as memories. dual memories would look something like this -------------------<====================>---------------- the middle part being the section with two memories that have the same time signature. usually a time stream looks like this after an event. --------------------------------------------------- \___________________ Either way I think of wave functions as time signatures. ... same time signature... Very good joke, I walked right into that one.

Nonsensical statement quota achieved.
Also, I'm rather excited to see what the 1000th strip will look like..
