My reaction exactly, or more properly ??? Come on Tom, you set up the romance only to have it suddendly crash.... Maybe its his way of sinking the Annie X Jack shippers? I guess Annie is trying to say, lets just be friends and I don't like like you THAT much. Why did she give him her blinker stone though?

When I saw those first three panels, my heart just about stopped! XD Now I feel like Annie may have a bruised ego?

I guess she is still a bit sore over the whole Whiteleg possession event, or she didnt want to actually get into romance. Jack may have been feeling the same thing and pissed off Annie a little by accident. Heh, women *ducks the onslaught of fruit*

Well, she's his nemesis. He was going to deal with it by attracting her, dating her, eventually proposing, and then fathering a child on her. Frankly, it'd be a lot of time and effort.
But if she's caught on, he can go back to trying to kill her directly.

Tom Siddell is captaining the submarine that just sent a torpedo right into the hull of the SS Jack/Annie.
I have to say, I'm really enjoying these last couple pages, having relatively recently gotten out of that stage of life development myself. Teenage romance is NEVER storybook perfect. It's full of missteps, glorious misunderstandings, awkwardness and plenty of angst. And thankfully a lot of good times and character development.

Hmmmm... Something strikes me as fishy here.
Although that may just be because I can't tell whether Annie said 'Phew?' or a voice over on the ledge somewhere. After all, the speech bubble is so far from her mouth that I really can't tell what's going on.
edit: or... Hmmm... I'm going to reserve judgement on this one... this could be intresting.
Edit2: Never mind. This doesn't make any sense, given what we know about the blinker stone.

Trying to hit on Annie when she didnt want to be or him thinking Annie wanted to hit on him may have just sort of contnued, dunno.

Clearly Jack was just executing a complicated plan to get close to Kat, and now he knows he doesn't have to break Annie's heart.

It still brings up the reason why she gave him her blinker stone, unless he gave it back to her already, in which case, it night be moot, no idea.

I'm more interested in what Annie is thinking here. "I don't think I like you very much" doesn't sound like the lead-in to a "just friends" speech, it sounds like she was starting to engage in some friendly teasing.
Friday's going to take forever to get here.

It most likely is from annie, given her facial response to Jack, the speech bubble is just way over there for some reason.....

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! A Panel-by-Panel List of Reactions Panel 1: Aw... Panel 2: Awww... Panel 3: Awwwwwwww... Panel 4: Wha- HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Way to tell 'im, Annie! (Aside: Doesn't she look like a young lady!) Panel 5: Awww, poor dear. Panel 6: Oh! Huh? Panel 7: BWAHAHAHA!!!! (I'm sorry Annie, but you brought this on yourself.) I'm more interested in what Annie is thinking here. "I don't think I like you very much" doesn't sound like the lead-in to a "just friends" speech, it sounds like she was starting to engage in some friendly teasing. Friday's going to take forever to get here. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too, though I am interested in what Jack has to say. At this point I could see him doing anything from teasing right back to proclaiming his everlasting love for Shadow 2.

What is this I don't even----
That was both hillarious and puzzling; and powerfully ironic considering what happened in monday's thread. I think Tom is really Coyote.

And a thousand shippers cried. Is this where Jack comes out of the closet? And a thousand other shippers held their breath in anticipation.

Maybe Annie is winking in panel 4.
Or maybe Jack is simply confused or doesn't want to believe because she's still smiling. Next page: Jack lies on the pavement 20m below and "No means no. Thanks for reading!" underneath the page.
I love her expression in the last panel by the way!

Yea, Annie's behavior makes sense now. It was a litttle strange for her to let Jack so near in the previous page. She _NEVER_ liked him. Maybe she is used to Coyote not respecting personal space, so she didn't mind it, either.

i dunno i think by the look on annies face in panel 4 ( eyebrows lowered in a mischievous expression rather than the worried concerned one she'd have if she was actually saying what she meant) she's teasing to see what he says to it. but when he says phew she's a bit pi**ed and confused. that makes more sense in regards to annies reaction and why she's pulling that face in panel 4.
anyway thats what i think, i could be wrong.

Here's a thought. Annie was teasing Jack. At first Jack didn't realize it and was freaked out about it, but he quickly figured it out decided to play along, but Annie's a little slower on the uptake.
