My my, ain't the Court glad Annie learned to control her anger by not bottling up her feelings and wants!!!
This is going to be a fun year.

Looks like Annie has moved on from being sad about her father's absence, and is now bitter instead. Their reunion should be interesting.
Annie has always had a tendency to ignore rules - remember she found Reynardine by exploring a place she wasn't meant to, regularly copied Kat's work and stole a photograph that belonged to Anja. Just seems to me that having been in the forest she is now being more overt about it.

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of Kat's new momentarily-turn-into-construction-paper power.

Huh... Annie is testing her boundaries... which is perfectly normal...
The court tracks the students so they do know where she is.
They gave her detention, she didn't go... they SHOULD respond in some way that lets her know where her boundaries are.
Oh and I don't think that's disapproval on Kat's face... I think she's just worried.

Ysengrin taught her something she wants to share with Kat. I doubt it is anything magical. Other than Coyote's gift of tree control, Ysengrin is fairly down to earth.
"Choose your battles wisely" ? "Face your fears" ? "Give Eglamore a hard time whenever possible" ?

"Give Eglamore a hard time whenever possible" ? This is going to be a fun year. I hope so))))))) P.S.: Maybe this "thing" is a test to Kat, will she betray Annie, by saying what is that to Court(to Mr. Eglamore or Anya, or someone else). Also this test could be created not by Annie, but by Y' or Coyote, if they wants to show that only they are real friends(and family... If to consider, that she is not absolutely the human) for Annie... And for Rey too...

Ooh, maybe she will show Kat that she can fly, and take Kat with her (not likely), but yea, hopefully it will be something cool.

I like Annie's new attitude Although I have a feeling it's going to come back and bite her in the ass later, especially when Anthony does eventually decide to come back..... Frankly, given the amount of talents and skills Annie has by this point I doubt they could do that even if they wanted to. The fact that she never comes across as a Mary Sue is a testament to the good writing in Gunnerkrigg Court.

Perhaps Ysengrin taught her some of his terrifying skills of gardening. Also: Mary Sue

Anyways, her flaw (one of them anyway) used to be that she was all bottled up, but Annie is in the middle of character evolution along with Kat. On top of that, they are coming of age. First, we were given a quote button for a reason. Because I decided not to?.....

Hour ago, Tom has updated his Twitter: "All done. I will now zonk out." Interesting, WHAT IS Y's GIFT, if he has written such post?!
P.S.: "One page done, One left to colour." - that was written 2 hours ago...

Reminds one a lot of her dear mother, doesn't she? Seriously though, it's like seeing young Surma in "ties", both visually and mentally. Knowing Ysengrin, it's something violent and/or combat related. Probably quite impressive, but also a bit scary. Or she learned to fly. Like her dear mother. Firstly, do people realize that Antimony hates being compared to her mother? A lot? She looks annoyed a lot over it. There's a difference between looking at people and seeing them. Surma and Antimony are only superficially similar. Surma was a tomboy and her most recent flashback portrayed her as a consummate playacting spy. Antimony is neither. She is mostly reserved and dislikes the crass political manipulations of the adults; those of her mother included. And she gets distinctly annoyed at Jack's fickle lovestruck affections. Frankly, I'm surprised that Coyote mentions Antimony's temper at all. What temper? She's pretty much the deadpan ice-queen for much of her character arc. Surma punches a boy to escalate a situation. Antimony does a bit of judo to de-escalate. They're incredibly different. One person is out for your blood if you piss her off or will absolutely ruin you through a sweet face and a sweet smile. The other is a empathetic ambassador. I like your interpretations, yeah, I guess Antimony tries harder to be moral to all folks while Surma was more machiavellian, perhaps? Or just had different priorities.

Annie has never been an ice queen, this was an outward appearance she was keeping when dealing with most people, but she has repeatedly shown strong emotions since chapter 6; the rest of the time she was bottling them up.

Why is that bamboo pole leaning against the wall in frame 5?
Is it about to burst back into life as Annie's demo?
