D: I'll admit, Jack jumped to mind immediately - especially with the little 'clearing throat' gesture at the beginning. Another way to not ingratiate himself to Kat? Jack and Robot's speech bubbles are very similar in color (Robot's has a hue of 120, Jack of 117). This robot's speech bubble, though, isn't quite either one of them (it's 123, closer to Robot than Jack). Which is to say, "maybe".

hi hi
Was I the only one to remember the words robot-kind has had their finest minds analyzing?

Anyone notice how in the third panel, it looks like he's 'coughing' (if he were human)? Sort of like how some people use that to mentally prepare themselves when they are going to put up a big dramatic act? Which he does right after? Yeah! He's not standing all roboty at first either. I have a new theory. He's COMPLAINING!!! Kat left him with no one but repair bots as company! He's more advanced than them now and probably finds them 'less than stimulating' company. If so, his next line will be "See what I've had to put up with all summer! Take me with you next year!"

Yeah, there are a lot of interesting ideas about what just happened.

...was literally all I said about this page

I think Robot's ticked at being left alone for the whole summer. In a boring old temporary body no less.

I think that Robot is trying to choreograph a song-and-dance routine. This is the part where he acts as the sad, silly robot who has not been enlightened and seen the Tomb. His ultimate goal with it will be to go to Broadway (or English equivalent? Afraid I don't know that) and spread the story of Jeanne and Angel Kat.
Or it could be something completely different.

I think Robot's ticked at being left alone for the whole summer. Gee, there might be some parallels there! Seriously though, Robot angry at Kat for exactly what Kat's angry at Annie for would be interesting. My money's still on Robot being told to distract Kat and not knowing how to do so without acting like a big spaz, though.

*snerk* You guys. YOU GUYS. The bag ruse....IS A DISTACTION. My immediate thoughts exactly. It seems like someone told him, "Robot go distract Kat! You know, cause as much inconvenience as possible or something." And this is his interpretation. That or he's just being silly. This seems like Tom's hyperbole silliness rather than something serious. Yup yup! Far too silly to be serious - when Tom wants us to know something is really wrong, he lets us know. (See: The difference between the first and second "saddest face"s.) "But how should I distract her?" "You know, annoy her? Kick her bags around? Just keep her busy, I don't know!"

Kat being gone for the summer would also mean that she couldn't do any maintenance or debugging on Robot. That might be an additional reason for Robot to be annoyed, or it might be a reason for Robot to act crazy in itself.

Robot managed OK on his own the previous summer.

Robot managed OK on his own the previous summer. On the other hand, it is just cobbled together from spare parts. But, I am not advocating that or any theory in particular; I am helping list possibilities to define the dart board. [I am mentally ordering them according to my expectations, and am thinking that Kat may need to set some boundaries but there isn't enough data to commit.] [random] For an example of stark contrast, look at this comic and then this comic. Hi (since this is my first post)! As Max pointed out, Robot managed to do OK the previous summer, wouldn't he have had the company of Shadow2? Or have I missed something about Shadow2 returning to the woods or something?
Personally, I think it's a distraction, by Jack.

I agree with the virus theory. I bet all the court's robots went haywire during Kat's vacation, and she's going to spend the rest of the chapter straightening them out.

My shot-in-the-dark guess is that Robot is attempting to mimic human playground behavior in respect to the angel he, ahem, likes. This is the truth and everything else in the thread is silly guessing that should be eradixtinguished.
