Okay, here is my first practice watercolour, done on an off-cut scrap of paper. It’s a panel from Faraway Morning (Chapter 34). I hope to get a lot better at using these things. Also, it looks a lot better in real life.
Another watercolour practice. The pencil is there to show these are only tiny paintings.
This one didn’t come out too well, but I wanted to show it because it’s all part of getting better. To name but a few things wrong: Kat came out too dark, Annie’s hair is not very interesting (I need to stop treating the paint like a bucket fill), her makeup is half-assed, and I barely made any effort to shade the thing.
P.S.: If I do some grammatical mistakes, excuse me, please.
I wasn’t satisfied with the last piece, so I didn’t want to call it quits just yet tonight. This was a sketch I had knocking around of these two, so I figured I’d use it as practice. I feel like I’m starting to get somewhere now, and I like this one, despite its faults.
These all look much better in real life, but I hope you get the gist.
I have been playing Eternal Sonata on my lunch breaks, and I love the style. I couldn’t decide if Annie should be a cutsey main character type, or a fighter (who is also cutsey and over the top in an anime way), so I drew both.
