There was no choice. You saw how they looked at each other. I may have a problem.

There was no choice. You saw how they looked at each other. I may have a problem. What...what the hell? Is this a reference? What is it referencing? It looks really cool, actually, but I have no idea what the context is... well it's a love story actually, a courtly love story, inspired largely by the great Pee Eww.I can barely remember to reference myself most of the time, but here’s most of it. Apologies if I missed anything. (And warning: it gets a little naughty.) Spoilers for Tony: "When a boy's not playing Launcelot, he's playing Prometheus. Both ancient and modern versions." Okay so Tony is clearly Lancelot. Nearly perfect but never faithful, torn between Guinevere and Elaine. (Or Elaines; there are at least two.) In the Quest, Elaine (but which one?) healed his wounds and vouchsafed him one glimpse of the Grail, but he was unworthy of more, and it slowly broke him. Eventually he returns to Elaine. (But which one?) Tony is also the Doctor—or a Doctor anyway (what was his wife’s name again?)—as you can tell from his more bombastic bits of dialogue. Long ago, he stole fire from the gods. Lately, he's created life and it threatens to destroy him. Perhaps it did already, and he did die in those caves. Perhaps he’s Wooden Tony, about to be jerked back into the darkness. Perhaps he was only ever a recording. Zimmy gave him a scratch to remember, though. Spoilers for Jones: She is The Diamond. The emp Her finest tissue cannot be damaged. The pressures she exerts exceed all probes. You know where I’m going with this. Her literal name once was Diamontower. Elsewhere she was El aine, perhaps. (But which Elaine?) Incorruptible. Im perishable. Impregnable. She turns all blades, br eaks all spears. Exceeding, enduring. She waits for many a knight though none have yet storm ed the fortress. So to speak. She's a good listener though. And with a needle she can scratch anything. error's daug hter. Spoilers for both: I cannot for the life of me recall which ancient ballad (techno? house?) introduced Tony’s meter, but if you figure it out, please tell me, because I can’t unhear it right now.

Actually, do we have a place on these boards for discussing the courtly romance allusions? I've seen posters occasionally mention Eglamour of Artois, but not in detail. Wasn't sure if we just keep it subtle in case there are Young People Present.

It had to happen eventually, might as well get it over with.

The expression for this is perfect. It makes one really curious of the context, doesn't it?
