Dwarf Fortress... I'm assuming it is not Team Fortress with all the classes as the babies Pyro envisioned. What game is this? You lucky, lucky human being. A few introductory links: In case you didn't deduce it yet: it's a game with INSANELY complex gameplay mechanics, which, combined with almost nonexistent graphics, gives way to imaginative emergent gameplay stories. That's why people love it. It's a free game developed by essentially one man over many, many years, and he has decades of development planned ahead. My favorite excerpt from the development log: Please note: isometric graphics depicted in Bravemule are not representative of the game itself, it's an external viewer program. This game is best played with its original ASCII-style display, though there are optional tiles to improve readability. If you master playing it, or at least reading what's onscreen in the ASCII mode, you feel and look like a Matrix operator. Sorry for the off-topic.That... is a very confusing game. I don't think I'd have the memory skills to play it ...or just plain smartness.

This thread is the one thing in my life that is consistently full of win. I laughed out loud at pretty much every image on the last few pages.

For a second I thought that was real, and every page since then had been a massive flashback...

Yep. You either know your shit, or you know you're shit. Never underestimate the power of capitalization! You helped your Uncle Jack off a horse? you helped your uncle jack off a horse?

Mmm, grammar. In German, the sentences "Der Mann isst den Apfel" and "Den Apfel isst der Mann" Have the same meaning. You're much less likely to hear the second way though.

Oh English. In one way or another you've simplified to the point of ridicule.
Don't forget indefinite articles:
Ein Eine Ein Einen Eine Ein Einem Einer Einem Eines Einer Eines
(All replaced in English with either 'a' or 'an')

English is still pretty complicated though. They're, there, their; though, trough, through; etc. But yeah, I had the same kind of problems with Spanish classes and when getting into multiple tenses..ugh. Edit: just ran into swath vs swathe, so there's another.

Edit: just ran into swath vs swathe, so there's another. And then there's this. I will bake you gunnercookies if you can read that at a decent speed without tripping over your tongue. I've done half of it quickly, but that took a lot of practice.

Sentence structure and gender articles are the two main reasons why I still butcher German after a year of practice. The other day I was filling out an application for a job at a Christian School, and they asked an essay question: How does a person become a Christian? I was having my wife edit my app before submitting it, and I (without thinking about it) just answered by switching to they to have a gender neutral pronoun. However, my wife (a much better grammarian than I) noted that since the question was singular, my answer should be in singular. Except we do not have a singular neutral pronoun in English! Fixing it was such a pain, with so many his/her, him/her, he/she, etc.
