That face is never ending source of opportunities, it seems. Opportunities to create creepy panels. Slasher Annie continues to be a good thing. Not so much of an opportunity, more of what seems to be a recurring thing on sites like reddit and imgur. Personally I'm not able to use it, but whatevs   |

Of note: that third panel is done entirely by hand. No automated tools. None. Edit: I don't know either, but it goes back at least a few years as far as I can tell. Starting with the first page of this thread. |

In the beginning it was more or less "Jack-and-Annie-staring rule", then I did one with lasers, the lasers branched out and the thread became a general edits thread, which we hadn't had until then. (I think the full roll call of threads is this one, boxbot, cookies, party hat, homestuck, and Dante's D&D thread? Did I forget any?)

I'm a general sneak, so I remember looking at the tops of their decks while they were playing and mana screwing them I know some terms here and there, but I never remember the rules too much. |

It is one of the hardest games ever. It barely even has graphics worthy of the title "graphics".
You control a party of dwarves creating a new mountain fortress. It is very in-depth with resources and crafting and skills for individual dwarves, random events, delving too greedily and too deep, etc.
Even with a new tile set and a newb guide I could not figure it out for the life of me, though I had fun digging and designating areas to store resources before my dwarves went nuts and killed each other and the wild beasts picked over the carcasses. Mostly I just watch people play it on Youtube.

A few introductory links: In case you didn't deduce it yet: it's a game with INSANELY complex gameplay mechanics, which, combined with almost nonexistent graphics, gives way to imaginative emergent gameplay stories. That's why people love it. It's a free game developed by essentially one man over many, many years, and he has decades of development planned ahead. My favorite excerpt from the development log: Please note: isometric graphics depicted in Bravemule are not representative of the game itself, it's an external viewer program. This game is best played with its original ASCII-style display, though there are optional tiles to improve readability. If you master playing it, or at least reading what's onscreen in the ASCII mode, you feel and look like a Matrix operator. Sorry for the off-topic. |
