And for once, Annie seriously misses the point.
I mean, this is like Kat not getting the science fair prize for proteins.

I have to imagine that there's some reason that Annie is being such a downer. It's not simply that she loathes the entire idea of romance... see the beginning of S1 for example.

Eventually, Andrew's power will sort things out into the natural order (Smitty and Parley somewhere far away from Annie)

I have to imagine that there's some reason that Annie is being such a downer. Possibly connected to her outburst with Mort?

Someone pointed out recently Max that that had more to do with her feeling like Mort had gone behind her back to "lay claim" on her. (which she later realized wasn't the case, of course.)

I could see it if [GUESS] she saw the way her dad maybe treated her mum when she was little (cold, uncaring, maybe broke her heart, who knows) and decided that that's what romance leads to?[/GUESS] in other news, ALT POST: Cheezus Annie. Forget Jones, maybe *you're* the robot. *grumble*

Yeah, but Tom said somewhere that there was more to it. It's possible that she has some problem with romance, but she couldn't understand why, so that was the reason she came up with. Am I making any sense? I dipping into Wild Spec territory, I know.

She seems perfectly normal and happy teasing Kat about her crush on Eglamore, and talking about him and Jones possibly being an item. Edit: Yes, I know, it's sad, I have the comic memorized. Don't judge me.

Actually Jayne I think that's an interesting page to bring up, because in it Annie seems to be saying to Kat that since they like each other, they ought to be acting, well, exactly the way they're acting now. So, Annie is seeing them do what Annie thought then that they -ought- to be doing... yet she's still not satisfied.

And her saying "I thought love was supposed to be a good thing" implies, does it not, that Annie grew up thinking that love was a good thing? So she can't just have something against Love itself, could she?

Ahaha ;D Funny page) Annie rules! And the look of their faces on last panel! Ahaha!
Tom as always at top. Amazing and funny, but sometimes horrible, comic!
P.S.: Interestingly, do we sometime will know, why Annie's parents have appeared together and married if Surma has been always enamoured by Eglamore?
Also: Probably Anna's indifferent behaviour can be explained by partial absence of emotions at her father?

Methinks Casey, Max, and Jayne are reading too much into it.
I'm very doubtful Annie has any sort of issue with romance. Her brain just doesn't want to let go of the matter of the sword-swingin' ghost. I think I'd probably be the same way.
