Haw, laughing on line. Creative censoring ftw. Unless 'ftw' is censored as well in which case I'll say 'for the win'.

I've got all but 8 of them done, and I think you have a spelling error in 29 down.

Hah, cool. Glad that you like it.
Btw I checked 29, and no, there aren't any spelling errors as far as I can see, in the clue or the actual word.

Is it all right if I post what I have so far?
Also, I think that either 7 down or 11 across have an error in the answer; I am almost definitely sure of the answers, but the intersection does not match.
Also, 8 down should be "Big Boxes", no?

The answers I have for 7 down and 11 across work as the puzzle is written.

Okay, I'll ask you about it in a PM.
EDIT: It turns out I had switched 7 across and 7 down. Oops. Well it works now.

It's not that much of a difference, it's okay.
Also, do you want us to collaborate and share the hints we figured out, or do it individually?

Well as I mentioned 2 days ago, I got all of them but 8. I'll tell you which ones that I -don't- have, and you can tell me if you have any of the ones that I don't (without giving me the answer!)
I don't have: 8 down 27 down 29 down 31 down
14 across 27 across 28 across 52 across

Ah, well, I think the reason I've been having problems with 29 down is because of the answer for 40 across.
The original answer I had for 40 across wouldn't allow for the logical answer to 29 down. I mean, I figured out 29 down pretty much right away, but it wouldn't work with my answer to 40 across. Which is why I asked a few days ago if 29 down was misspelled (because there is a common misspelling of 40 down that, if the author of the crossword had been using this misspelling, -would- have fit with my answer for 40 across.)
But now after looking at it some more, I see that there is another answer for 40 across that would fit with both 29 down and with 37 down, but the answer itself is inaccurate, or at least misleading in the clue.

Ugh, just got 28 across... Having the above problem resolved did help. Now I just have these left: 8 down 27 down 31 down 14 across 27 across 52 across

Yes, 40 across was a little vague. I was trying to spread the answers across 'easy' through to 'hard'. I may have been too successful. Also, you can solve it whichever way you like. I still don't know if there'll be a prize.

Things in quotes are mostly taken from a speech bubble or from the background in the comic somewhere. Except for 53, which is sort of the opposite.

I deleted your answers cause they showed up white and were easier to see when I quoted the text, if anyone was wondering what happened to them i got something different from 52 across from a quote by Willy, which then fits with what I got for 50 down. Will post what I have so far in a bit.

Casey, could you give me a few hints on the ones that I posted?

I'm having a hard time thinking of hints that wouldn't immediately give it away. I will tell you that some of them are pretty obscure, but if you've read the material front-to-back as many times as I have, things sort of pop out at you eventually.
On that note though, as I try to find my last 3, I've already re-read the first 10 chapters page by page looking for a reference to oranges, a big box, or the natural order, and I haven't found one yet. So I might just give up, which would be a shame, with the finish line in sight.

noooooooo, don't quit. the orange one is extremely obscure, and you will not find it from a reference to an orange in the comic. Also, big box(es, yes, it was supposed to be boxes) and natural order are found slightly later on, starting from 'fangs of summer-time'.

noooooooo, don't quit. the orange one is extremely obscure, and you will not find it from a reference to an orange in the comic. ...so I should start a list of every object in the universe that is not an orange? This is a rhetorical question of course.

sdhgsds, too obscure I guess. ok, another clue for the orange one is 'temporary home'

Okay. Well anyway, I'll worry about that later.
I went through chapters 14-19 this morning and managed to find one more answer, now I've got everything but 31 down and 14 across. I'll look at it some more tomorrow, as I'm out the rest of the day.
