If anyone can come up with a pun relating to xylem and phloem, we may be forced to crown them the ultimate punmaster. Offhand, the only instruments I can recall in this comic are a well-played guitar and a badly-played hornbot. I am almost certain we haven't seen a xylem phloem.

Not everything has to be interconnected that thoroughly in the Gunnerverse. I think it'd make more sense if Zimmy's abilities came from some completely different direction. It makes the universe feel bigger if not all paths lead back to Coyote. I also see Zimmy as unconnected to Coyote - especially since she and Gamma still strike me as rooted more in Birmingham than in Gunnerkrigg and Gillitie (an impression strengthened by the knowledge that Tom came up with Zimmy and Gamma some time before he came up with Gillitie).

Will Jolly Elfsberry return? Probably. Coyote's going to play a dirty joke on Mr. Eglamore. Which further brings back the possibility of Zimmy's ability being yet another imperfect gift from Coyote. Now you guys began to cast the blame for everything on him like on a deadman almost like Salvatore's fans tend to blame everything bad in FR on Lloth. ;D Loved this chapter (well, I love every chapter), especially for the Ysengrin insight, more blinker stone using (yay!) and beautiful aether art. I guess, the previous page was transitional between ether-style developed even furher than before and normal LoD. And yeah, i mostly expected that the high-detail holiday would continue. Caught me. Also, I'm guessing that Jones will comment on how Annie coming along as a medium now that she's friends with Ysenny too. IMHO it's unlikely, as long as Annie returns without some catch. Jones made a point once (with Mort), so she won't repeat this.

You forgot flute, but your pun was still funny. Oh yes, the flute! Played very aggressively, but a bit sharp. Of course, Miss Llanwellyn probably would regard this as flautery.

All the same, I think this was a nice page. Ysen was positively tolerant of Annie there :')
