Parley views Annie's trying to cross the bridge and falling off as the cause of the trouble. But I do want to point out that I was imagining how Parley saw Annie's role in events, rather than describing it (I certainly don't think that "meddling" is a good term for her actions). I get that, and it certainly makes sense. I just happen to think that Parley's feelings aren't specific to Annie, but rather are towards anyone who takes away from her own (Parley's) attempts to demonstrate herself as being special. The example I gave was Parley's reaction to Smitty's "ruining" the Jupiter Moon Martian simulation when she was all ready to kick some butts.

The example I gave was Parley's reaction to Smitty's "ruining" the Jupiter Moon Martian simulation when she was all ready to kick some butts. Well, that and, as Reynardine said, she probably wanted to flaunt the outfit . . . I think it's fair to say that, until recently, Parley was dealing with some pressure because she was supposed to be this great talent and yet had displayed nothing. In a weird way, she's a mirror of Annie in that respect -- people seem to expect things of Antimony because of her mother, whereas the great expectations laid on Parley have been going on literally before she was born. The main difference is that until the simulation it was only Annie who seemed close to living up to hers. So yes, I'd say a degree of sour grapes are/were a factor, and operating with only half the information on what had actually occured didn't help. (Good thing she warmed up.)

Coyote's face in panel 4 is THE BEST. Makes me laugh right along with him. Hoping Ysengrin hasn't become Perma-Tree'd or something like that (i.e. he just stands there doing nothing because the poor bloke can't move anymore). I doubt he's been perma-tree'd. If he was, then why would they need to be quiet to spy on him. They could do anything they wanted and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Except for his terrifying gardening skills of course.
