That is probably the most effective emotive interface I have ever seen. Researchers take note.

Other robots, perhaps?

So help me, if that gorilla-armed monstrosity damages the painting with that marker... there will be blood tonight! Or... machine oil!

This brings up so many questions. Is that a board marker? If it isn't how does he erase the previous expression on his face? What does he do when the pen runs/dries out? How does he draw so well on his own face without a mirror or any sort of tactile sensation? He's a Robot, he probably can simply calculate the position the pen needs to be in based on a knowledge of his own schematics. "Because that's how he's programmed" is the "a wizard did it" of robotics. I approve. I find Kingbot pretty scary. To use an American phrase, he's being pretty douchey. I'd like to know where his kingly authority comes from?

Kingbot definitely got a lot less cute today. But to balance it out, this comic got a lot more awesome.

How does a French word become an American phrase? The wonders of linguistics will never cease...

Kingbot is like what you might get if you combined Curious George with Rock Lee and made them a robot with no face.

Technically wouldn't studying the transferrence of loan-words from one language to another be the field of linguistic's raison d'être?

Hehe his crown is totally just a piece of sheet metal bolted onto his head. His head is rather strangely shaped as well. Perhaps the faceplate was an afterthought?

Faceplate is flat so that he may draw faces on it, methinks.

My God, Tom has created another amazing character. This is hilarious. Edit: I just noticed he's carrying a cloth in his other hand. I guess that's so he can erase his current expression and redraw new ones. How does a French word become an American phrase? The wonders of linguistics will never cease... Normans invading England early on in the English language's history means a huge chunk of the words you use every day are likely French. Most have just changed so much over time it's hard to tell.

My brain can't even process this to come up with a word to explain the effect of this page. Total. Vocabulary. Failure.

My smarty-pants version of the next page.
(frame1) Annie: I don't think Kat has ever refused any robot who asked to see the painting. (frame2) Annie: But you didn't ask. (frame3) Annie: Kat, why don't you show me what you're working on? (frame4: the two of them walk off into the shop)
