I want a Sky Watcher robot! Heck, I'll even take a Sky Watcher action figure.
So who is the hooded robot, and why is he motivated to spread the gospel of Jeanne? This could potentially get very interesting, very quickly.

When I saw the little hooded robot talking about a shrine I thought he meant Young's Monument. Then I realised that is not a shrine! I am silly.
Anyway I am already excited about this chapter, such a mysterious opening...

I like it better when the title of these threads is actually a line from within the comic. Not that it really matters what I like. But I'm registering my opinion for whatever it's worth. Maybe I just miss Yin. Maybe I got here after the thread title was changed, but this thread title is in today's strip. Anyway, I instantly love Sky Watcher. Tiny robots are really awesome.

I'm liking this Sky Watcher guy already. Anything that combines praying mantises and robots immediately equates to awesome. I wonder if his gathering of meteorological data has anything to do with the power plant storm experiment.

Or maybe he's just helping to do weather forecasts, or helping in collecting data about the climate of that part of the UK. Y'know. Nothing really mysterious.

I'm personally very excited for this chapter. It would be interesting to have a chapter just with robots functioning on their own. Especially sensitive-souled robots like these two. I keep expecting them to bring out the love sonnets for Jeanne.
Although I'm hesitant to make any more predictions until we get some more of the chapter, I hope our little Sky Watcher goes on a pilgrimage to find Jeanne's shrine, and then goes to find her itself. I can just picture all these wide shots that show him traveling across different areas of the Court.

My guess for the clothes is that their for rain protection. I mean, if they have to stay up on that antenna all day long, they'll need it.

One would also presume that laser cows are also waterproof, so clothing isn't necessary for weather protection. Presumably. In the Gunnerverse, anything is possible.
I like the idea that the parkour-bot is dressed like a parkour guy because he's a parkour-bot. But that's just me rehashing someone else's idea from the on-page comments.

I'm surprised nobody's said this outright yet, so I'm going to jump on it now.
The clothes? They're for parkour. They seem pretty stereotypical for climbing and jumping around, all tightly bound, while still being warm and protective. Just compare them with the Hunter's getup in Left 4 Dead, which the valve folk said specifically that they dressed them up in parkour styles.

The angel is NOT Jeanne, I'm thinking. Parkour-Bot just said the name to get sky watcher interested. Remember, when S13 first saw Kat, he called her an angel, so I am arguing that Parkour Bot is indeed our beloved Robot, and that the angel is Kat, and that this chapter is going to be awesome.

Parkour Bot is indeed our beloved Robot I don't understand why this notion keeps cropping up. Neither do I =| Folks is persistent on this one, but I'm just apathetic enough that I'm not going to argue about it. When it's all said and done, it's a comic on the internet that's already been written, so our ideas don't hold much weight. Except for maybe Brobot.

I don't understand why this notion keeps cropping up. Kat was building a new body for Robot, last we saw. Tom has been known to throw in fairly significant timeskips between chapters. Finally, those clothes look a bit like Kat's or even Ally's (remember, Ally gave all her stuff to Kat anyway). Therefore, I'm definitely not discounting it as a possibility that Kat finished Robot's body sometime after the residential. After all, we didn't see her make Robot's mouse body, did we? Time will tell, I suppose.

I thought that the "angel" was the old Seraph robot that fought a duel with the larger robot in Chapter Eighteen (it would fit in with the description of the "angel" as guarding the shrine, and the term "Seraph").
I don't know if this chapter will be all-robot with Annie and Kat off-stage, though Chapter Twenty-two has provided a precedent for Annie being absent for an entire chapter. If it is, I doubt we'll learn anything new about Jeanne and the thread involving her (since when new information gets brought in, it's generally brought in in a way that it reaches Annie); more likely, it would be an exploration of robots having human-like feelings and emotions (such as adoration, grief, and guilt).

Yeah, I don't think Parkour Bot is Robot either. Robot doesn't speak like that. Even when he was in the S1 body he didn't sound like this guy.

I'm guessing that the identity of the "angel" was revealed here.

Interesting thought, murgatroyd. I'd assumed earlier that the angel was the old Seraph robot (as I said above), but if Kat's visiting the warehouse where the painting's kept regularly (as the evidence suggests), she could be seen as the guardian of the shrine - and unlike the Seraph, she's still active.

I had considered posting to say that I thought it was readily apparent and without mystery from the 11th panel of the current page that the Angel he is referring to is Jeanne.
But then I thought A) This is GC, and stranger things have happened, and B) more importantly, if we all stop speculating for just a bit, we can just happily anticipate the next page or two which will no doubt make this conversation moot, just like the speculation from the title page which I feel silly for having participated in.
Somewhere along the way, we (and I certainly consider myself a part of that "we") got in the habit of way over-analyzing -everything-, and all we really need to do is just wait a day or two and the speculation becomes pointless. Personally, I blame whoever started the notion of "giving out cookies" to people who guessed stuff right. I mean, who really cares? Let's just shut up and enjoy the comic, and if we want to talk about how much we enjoy it, that's fine, but... meh.

Yay for new characters! I like Sky Watcher and this new robot boy already. I highly doubt new robot boy is S13, I think the making of a new body for Robot is something that has been brought up as important before, and I dont think Tom would just kind of skip over it. Also, I'm kinda holding it for Kat to build S13 an android body. I think word of this Angel is just... spreading around the court by the different robots. Also, I love that the Angel is Jeanne. Of course all the court robots have the memory of her programed into them. Well, she was having some trouble figuring out how exactly an android would work. I think Kat will make a more robotic body for S13 to start with, and eventually she'll gain enough prowess to make a functioning android body for him.
