Well Annie already has gone to see the stone; she just hasn't taken it yet. She can take it just as quickly as she wants seeing as how she already 'sees' the stone. I'm theorizing she wants to confront Jack.

It's too bad Jack has the stone; Annie could have put it down in front of her and used it as an etheric mirror to brush her hair.
Also, re: whether Jack knows the stone is Annie's: he might have wandered over later and been told by the other kids that Carver made the fire using this crazy rock she has.

I love the hair. I wonder whether Red has gone on the trip, since she would be delighted.

So far we've seen only Queslett students in the camping trip -- and indeed only Queslett students of Annie's year. Doesn't mean there aren't more of them ofcourse, but we've no evidence of that as yet.

Which brings up the point that Annie may try to just blink the stone back. I doubt she would want to do this because if Jack is already a little freaked out by magic, then she probably wouldn't want to make the stone seem like it just disappeared out of Jack's possession. If he doesn't give it back willingly, she might just blink it, but not without asking him for it first. I think she is likely to blink if back because she is creepped out byjack and probably does not want to face him. Still, I hope you're right and I'm wrong. It's too bad Jack has the stone; Annie could have put it down in front of her and used it as an etheric mirror to brush her hair. That would be cool, though I imagine hard, because she would have to move her hand while seeing herself form an outside perspective.

If Jack has some kind of etheric mental abilities, then Annie may be able to use the stone to talk with Jack the same way she was talking to Rey before. Maybe speaking with him in that context would be less awkward and more productive than speaking face-to-face.

She was surprised when Reynardine did that, but it's not that amazing from him. Imagine the trauma from seeing his sleep-deprived face popping up when she tries getting near him in the etherium.

I really doubt Jack is spending a lot of time on stuff beyond spying on ANnie and other suspicious characters of Jack's interest.

Well, it won't be Jack's "sleep-deprived face"... It will be how he appears in the etherium... Considering the fact that Rey appears in his fox form as opposed to his wolf toy form, I'd say we'd see something similar for Jack. Also consider that Annie has the scar Jeanie gave her-- Would Jack have scars from his experience in Zimmingham? That's kind of a frightening thought...

...ew ew ew. Given the implications of voluntarily giving someone a blinker stone, what are the implications of stealing one? (To be sure, Jack almost certainly has no idea what a blinker stone is, let alone its social significance. But still. It's possible that that might color Annie's perceptions and make the situation even more tense.) Hardly, but if someone who knows such things sees Jack with a blinker and discovers it's Annie's... Heee hee. Mr. Eglamore, for one. 2) Does Jack know the blinker stone is Annie's? The only way I can see that he does is if he saw her putting it down. It mostly depends on whether those kids were still able to use verbal communications after Antimony left them, or were incapacitated by magical cluster cliche attack then and there. I love the hair. I wonder whether Red has gone on the trip, since she would be delighted. Hey, that's the idea! ;D Annie could have put it down in front of her and used it as an etheric mirror to brush her hair. That would be cool, though I imagine hard, because she would have to move her hand while seeing herself form an outside perspective. It's a problem? Controlling both one's projected spirit and the real body at once, on the other hand... Also consider that Annie has the scar Jeanie gave her-- Would Jack have scars from his experience in Zimmingham? That's kind of a frightening thought... Ah, good point, this one i missed. But that time was quiet one. No big spiders, no Sivo/Reynardine projections, just icky Nobodies.

This is what I see happening:
Jack: [coolly sliding up to Annie] Hey Carver, I saw you left your rock on the ground after everyone went to sleep. I thought maybe I'd hold onto it for you until the morning so nobody woul-
Annie: [blinks the stone out of his hand mid sentence]
Jack: ... ah, okay, that just happened. I uh, guess that's that now... [awkwardly turns and goes, bumps into laser cow that's somehow mozied up behind him]

I imagined her standing in front of her body to look at herself while she brushes her hair. How do you imagine it?

I like the 'Jack wants an excuse to talk to Annie again' idea.
But I'll bet Annie can't help but spy on Jack until he does.
Which reminds me of Reynardine's line: "Anja forgot to mention that spying with a blinker stone is not recommended".

I imagined her standing in front of her body to look at herself while she brushes her hair. How do you imagine it? Well, i see only two variants. User has to learn either how to control the real body while in this state, or how to use stone and snap back in very quick "peeks".
