If this is the same Bob, I suspect flashbacks. He may recognize Annie and want to comfort her about her mother, or find out what they were doing in the cherry tree room. We may learn more about Annie's mother if she talks to Bob about that, and mayhaps we shall learn more about Annie and Kat, see if Bob may have thought what I think I thought he thought... I think... Anyway, I'm seeing character development at the very least. Yay character development!
Also... topped a new page!

In my opinion, flashbacks would not be necessary. Either Annie will ask him or he will ask her.
Annie might ask, "Sir, why did you snort when Ysengrin and Coyote came to the Court?"
Or, Bob might ask, "Say, young lady. Aren't you the one who ate my cherries without permission? Why did you cry back then?"
I like the 2nd possibility since Annie might tell him that she's Surma's daughter, he will be like, "Oh!" And we'll get more backstory on Surma.

Or more backstory on cherries. On the other hand, the first variant may bring more backstory on Ysengrin.

I'm wondering if we'll find out why Robot's wooden arm was planted in the cherry tree room. Or why the room was built in the first place.

I wonder how this story will be structured chronologically. Will it cover the entire week, like it did for Chapter 13, or will it just focus on one or two days? This chapter is gonna be beautiful. Reminds of walking through Monteverde's cloud forest in Costa Rica. Attachments:

Popo, you have saved me several hours that otherwise would have been spent staring at Wikipedia pictures. Thank you. And not the slightest bit of warmth! How depressing. Englishmen, is England always this gray? edit: didn't see page 2. i am a dope.

I'm pretty sure horses are nature's quadbikes. Or is it... cheetahs!

I'm pretty sure horses are nature's quadbikes. Or is it... cheetahs!Well horses don't naturally allow humans to ride on their back after all...well I suppose you could argue a degree of symbiosis developed one our ancestors did, but...

If (and I'm not entirely convinced yet) it is Bob snorting at Reynardine's zinger at Ysengrin: Why was he there? It wasn't exactly a general admission gig. Only those with precises roles or functions attached to Court/Forest diplomacy and the matter at hand were there.

Well it is Bob... Tom said so. (Plus, the "gardening skills" joke wouldn't make sense otherwise.)
Why Bob is important enough to be at that meeting, though, is still a mystery, and one we've been pondering for quite a while, along with all the other many mysteries.

Sorry for the necro, but I can't believe nobody's addressed this. Clearly the meeting was important enough that the senior Court officials/staff all attended, including all the Department Heads. Bob isn't just Bob the Gardener, he must be Bob the Head Gardener, making him a Department Head, hence his attendance. Now you can all start worrying about more important things.
