It just occurred to me that this might be the simulation Jones was telling Reynardine about. Who it's intended for is beyond me, though. ... Dude. THIS. Even if you're wrong, that was an impressive deduction.

Come on, Smitface.
Get it together and TAP THAT.
....I'm having a tough time deciding who's the cuter couple now Parley/Smitty or John/Margo.

I was referring to what I bolded. It's a little hard to see because of the way the quotes here shrink text. I still don't follow you, though. Is it supposed to be a grammatical correction of the bolded part of my original post, or something else?

He's basically agreeing with what you said- 'This is what I would say if the other person hadn't already said it.'

I wish he'd written the whole thing out, though; I didn't realize that was what he meant. (This incident has probably helped me understand more than ever why Tom doesn't like abbreviations - this wasn't an abbreviation, but it was still confusing.)

I'm going to say that playing cards against Smitty would totally suck.

I'm going to say that playing cards against Smitty would totally suck. I reckon you'de be fine...as long as he wasn't around when you shuffled the deck.

I reckon it was just ambigious with the bold not working right. I paraphrased in the next line, so my meaning was still conveyed and understood.

I just realised that jones' nod here was probably in response to an unspoken 'they're totally sweet on each other, aren't they'. I'm an idiot.

I still think she was just confirming Andrew’s account. What Parley’s feelings for Smith really are was something Annie could work out for herself (as she eventually did), but whether Andrew was talking in jest was not.
