...and on fire. With Leprechauns.
I have a feeling this is going to top the first spacemonaut story a million times over. I have to wonder though if it will be in black and white like the first one, or with a filter like with chapter 22. Also, I'm curious about the aliens. Maybe the mediums-in-training will have to settle a dispute between a race of Marvin the Martian-like creatures and Jar Jar Binks. Who is allied with Boxbot.
Speculation: Reynardine "accidentally" gets put in the simulation with Parley, Andrew and Annie. Hilarity ensues.

I guess Tom decided we needed some comedy after all those serious plot revelations. He might also have noticed that the comedy seems more popular with most of the readers (judging from the comments that I've read both in the forum and the comments page) than the serious part of the story.

Although Tom does GKC primarily for himself as a hobby. It's not like he makes any money off us (that is, until commissions come back) so whether we like the comic or not is just a by-product of something Tom's pursuing an interest in. He doesn't need to pander to us. Maybe Tom just likes comedy. I'm also interested in the fact that everyone's assuming this will be yet another spoof arc played for lulz. It will be spoofy, but who knows? Tom might throw us a curve-ball and some really serious stuff might happen. People might die! Or at least get injured a bit. This is Tom, he likes to mess with our heads. Which is a good thing

Not everyone's assuming it's going to be comical...
I'm assuming that they use the haptic simulator thing for training mediums in situations that you can't conjure up otherwise. I am guessing that that's what we're going to see in the coming chapter.

I was thinking of a more subconscious influence - that Tom could be unwittingly conditioned to include more comedy in the story because of all the enthusiasm that his readers show towards it.

Oh oh oh oh oh. I am so triple exciting about this, wow. The little drama unfolding in the bottom left is just gigglicious. It made me laugh on line. I need a translation from City Facese into English. Now that I read this. It reminds me of doubleplusgood.

Wildspec: Haptic simulator goes haywire halfway through. But I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a medium training thingy.

Or at least get injured a bit. I don't think Parley's injured, though; that pose is far too theatrical. (But Smith's likely to get injured if he complains out loud about her being too heavy to lift.)

Smitty's face totally ruins Parley's romantic pose.
Or completes it, I can't tell which.
And I think that skull wants my blood.

When I saw Terror Castle, I immediately thought back to TERROR PALACE; that riveting episode of THE HUNTSMAN(Freakazoid).

And a simulation of Moriarty intended to be more intelligent than Jones takes over the Enterprise Court? I remember that episode! Ah, it's been a fair old while since I saw any Next Gen.

I prefered DS9 personally. I mean, I know Roddenberry created the series and all but it started getting much better when he was kept away from it...Enterprise notwithstanding. Disclaimer: "Next Gen" and "DS9" refer to the series' "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space 9". Roddenberry was the creator of the original Star Trek (alothough how much so is disputed). Enterprise was the last (and most poorly recieved) Star Trek series.

You *do* realize that the last couple of posts are likely to bewilder those of us with a mentality more like Annie's than like Kat's, don't you?
