It's not just the art (though that's especially great), it's the fact that even though the speech bubbles gradually arc down from the top right to the lower left, there is no problem following them because they're so well positioned in a page layout that complements them.
THAT is some good page layout right there. -serious nod-

Details, details. I never said it would be easy, but "scientify" magic it would be possible. Or at least really fun to try.

This page gives me goose-bumps. But I wonder, why is it exactly that, when your in the other-worldly state like Annie goes into, does your hair grow 5 times normal size?

I'm reminded of a phrase from Terry Pratchett's Lords and Ladies On the 'magical' closing of a door:
"Nothing special, it's just simple telekenetic energy" "Right, explains everything that does."
badly paraphrased of course.

Speaking of which, here is a comparison of what's happened to Antimony over time... The way Annie looks these days, she should be glad that she's got such a strong "weirdo" reputation in her class. Otherwise, most of the boys in Queslett North 8 would probably be chatting her up almost constantly.

Um does any one else wonder if its significant that ethereal kats mom is gray when all other life forms are at least partially colored. At least her hair grew.

Hmm.... it might just be that Annie was focusing on the stone so she'd didn't 'see' her clearly enough to see details like color... Usually gray means lifeless but we know she's very much alive.

That seeming discrepancy is answered a few pages beyond this one, [520]. I won't say more here for the sake of those reading comment threads as they go through the archives.

Wow caelo, that response was totally worth dredging up a six-months-dead thread.
