Isn't that the guy in panel 6 here? And on the following page, of course.

Isn't that the guy in panel 6 here? And on the following page, of course. Looks quite different to me. That guy had white eyes and a mouth, had a different head shape, and was built a good bit more robustly.
If it's the same guy, he's been through some major trauma in the meantime!

They came at night leaving fear behind Shadows were on the ground No nobody knew where to find her No evidence was found "I'm never coming back!" They heard her cry and I believe her Well she never meant to do anything wrong It's gonna get worse if she waits too long
Zimmy, Zimmy don't you loose your monsters 'Cause you're not anywhere that I can find you Oh now Zimmy, Zimmy don't you loose your monsters 'Cause you're not anywhere that I can find you, oh no

A side question: how much of the Forest was affected by the Loup-tsunami? Are there undamaged zones that Forest creatures could return to, or are they all stuck living in the Court now?

Or Tom's art has evolved a bit more. It's not like he sits still over the years!
I'm not too attached to the theory, but honestly I remembered the body language first, from the panel where he was crawling up the wall. If it's not him, then it's not. Or her? I can't remember any other incident where we were introduced to any of the mean forest creatures, nor any other time we saw anything that looked like that at all. /shrug

Aww, maybe he was on vacation and now because of Loup it's all ruined ((He wouldn't be the first GC visitor from out of town))

Damn, NICE job recognizing the thing! I'm 99% sure that's what it is now, especially because we've already seen certain obscure cryptids living in the Forest. Remember that pink frog thing from Chapter 48? According to Tom's retrospective series, that was actually a "Canvey monster", an obscure Southeast English folktale. So an obscure cryptid from Massachusetts seems like par for the course, honestly. Thanks! While I had forgotten the name, I vaguely remembered previously seeing a Dover Demon image and description posted somewhere, some time ago. (I don't recall where. I'm not a cryptozoology enthusiast, so my best guess, actually, is that I saw it while searching for a previous GC character's inspiration.) The version on the latest page therefore rang a bell and I searched for "mouthless cryptid". By the way, making allowances for simplification for artistic purposes, we may have seen this character a few pages ago:

yeah, sort of a cross between Squidward and Gollum.... Here's hoping for the moment someone starts referring to Coyote's Tooth as "my precious."
