I love how Tom just tossed the marriage announcement in at the end like it was no big deal. Congrats Tom!
These last few strips have been interesting. It's nice to see Annie let her guard down and actually act more like the teenage girl she is, instead of the stoic persona she's usually putting on. First Crannie made Frannie cry, then they both got horribly embarrassed in this strip. I guess I like seeing it because Annie has always kept too much bottled up inside, and that's not healthy.

Best link-text. Super happy for Tom. What a surprise. And on an oddly relevant page, too. But also, with that visceral of a response, a literal “Don’t say it (out loud)”, my god, it’s like they’re talking about Renard or something. What’s that embarrassing that you get literally chili-pepper red, lmao?

Also note: Physical contact finally, with no reaction at all. Guess they really are two separate people. Crush guess: Here

Well that should squash all of the "Annie is asexual" theories. I don't think a face can get redder than that.

Aw, the Annies have a crush ... How cute and potentially worrisome.

Congratulations Tom! Best of luck!

Not necessarily, if she considers attractiveness to be exclusively romantic without a physical aspect. Fair. She's not aromantic. But that also means that we might never get an answer to the question as this isn't a comic that is likely to show sex in the first place, as most of characters are still children. Either way, it's a much more explicit example of interest than we've ever been shown before. (Also, I would love if it were Jones.)

Oh the potential for a kamikaze move to throw your clone into a heap of embarrassment.
Also congrats Tom! I saw he was going to America on the twitters, but didn't expect it to be for this!

I'm hoping them finally touching is a sign that the two Annies will just remain from here on out. I'm actually really enjoying the dynamic and think it has a ton of room to grow them as separate entities.
Also, congrats on the marriage!

Congrats Tom! Also it's oddly relevant that the strip shown when Tom got married is about love (or infatuation at least).
So who does Annie have a crush on? All we know currently is that it isn't Andrew scince she just mentioned him, I wonder what could be so embarrassing about them that it would make Annie go so red. I mean she seemed pretty nonchalant about admitting her feelings for Jack to the forest elves, so it's probably someone really embarrassing.

1. Congrats, Tom! 2. I'm a little surprised they didn't both literally catch on fire there, though I suppose the steam trails are close enough (and, again, probably not just representational but actually present).

Edit: whoops, wrong thread.
So, any expected complication with both Annies having a crush on the same person? If one ever gets with that person I mean.

I am still uncomfortable with Courtnie's choice of words. If they are now aligned with the thought they are one and the same, I would expect het to say "...we have a crush on...".

Either way, it's a much more explicit example of interest than we've ever been shown before. Physical contact considered desirable, and you can obviously allude to what a character finds erotic (even a teenager) without being debased or simply disrespectful about it; Annie's gesture and turned-away head (a habit that repeats in her dream, though not when facing the apparently-naked Jones), for instance, are restrained but expressive revelations about her particular sub-definition of love I am still uncomfortable with Courtnie's choice of words. If they are now aligned with the thought they are one and the same, I would expect het to say "... we have a crush on...". I think she may be fond of acting, a bit at least -- and of mythologizing herself, thus veering into treating herself as a "character" here (being two disjointed instances does make that easier) -- if so, I would assume this behaviour linked to her skill in Etheric mediation

I find it odd that no one has mentioned Eglamore as a crush possibility. Not that I think I necessarily know. Just that that's where *my* mind goes when I think of "really embarrassing crush for Annie to have" *facepalm*

Her dramatization is very chaste, almost princess like. It's hard to get any particular read on that because it's a fantasy.

Seeing how they talked about Eyebrows and averted saying who they have a crush on, now the chances they're being monitored have gone sky-high.

He tried to act like he was her dad in the beginning and it pissed her off. I don't see her warming up to him that much.

Congratulations, Tom! Panel 3: Creepy Cat Eyes are back. The comic has both clearly suggested Parley and Smitty having had sex right before they came to a meeting, as well as pretty clearly shown Jeanne and her boyfriend getting busy. I am still uncomfortable with Courtnie's choice of words. If they are now aligned with the thought they are one and the same, I would expect het to say "... we have a crush on...". I think it is just funnier if she says "you". Or...there is the distinct possibility that Courntey does not have that crush any more, six months later, but of course her face speaks otherwise. Also, I hope it is Jack, simply because I like him and would like to see him more often in the comic.

He was explicitly crossed out when she thought about "boys she knew" after being asked if there was a boy she liked.
By the way, I am surprised no one has made a poll yet about the mysterious crush.
By the other way, one speech bubble partially covers the others. There are other English words beginning with "cru-". Maybe Annie does not really have a crush, but a crusade against someone? A crumb that she put on their clothes? A crucifix? Or maybe a crucial interest?
(Yes, I know most of these do not fit with the last word. ;P )

Jeanne and her boyfriend are adults, and Parley and Smitty is an implication. It's an HBO show, if you get what I'm saying.
