Huh, Frannie's hair kind of reminds me of a winged kuriboh in the second panel.
If Loup can just enter the Court as he pleases, why doesn't he get the items by himself?

If Loup can just enter the Court as he pleases, why doesn't he get the items by himself? Maybe it's not really Loup but only an avatar capable of very little.
Or he's not so much after the items, but after Sylvies affection. Or he doesn't know where they are and needs someone who can find out. The court is huge and hiding something there would be very effective as it would take forever to look for it. Unless... unless... you could create thousands of copies of searchers...

Oh, no. Please no. Go away, Loup, no one likes you.

I'm sorry but those last two panels are adorable! All that's missing is the "forward facing dog" yoga pose

Or, as was sort of hinted at in this page, the Court is capable of hiding things from etherically powerful entities like Coyote/Loup. They probably have the whole Court covered in this Shield of Etheric Stealth +12, so Loup can't effectively look for things inside it. He's likely here now because whatever bunker they're in is either outside this protection, or he stuck Sylvan Annie (love that name) with a tracking device of some description (effectively making her an unwilling "trojan horse"...).

Perhaps that shield has your +12 etheric stealth properties too.. Sylvie/Sylvan Annie for the win! (Better than Fannie...)

So Loup found a Loup-Hole get it? Loup-Hole! If you still don't get it, speak it out loud. Haha. I found it funny.

Was he able to "see" where they were from the outside by searching, or is it because he could already pinpoint where they were because they were acting as a tracking device (again like a trojan horse, or perhaps more accurately a "beachhead" into the court)? The arm too was once one of those seeds, so the same applies to it. (And yes, that name is much better than Fannie/Frannie. \o/)

In panel 1, Sylvie is farther from the seedling than Courtney, yet she's illuminated by its green glow and Courtney is not. What's up with that?

I'm not sure if it's illumination from the seedling or Frannie's silhouette is just green because she's wearing a green top, or maybe the Antimonys' shading (Frannie is green, Courtnie is blue) is for some deeper symbolic reason.

If Loup can just enter the Court as he pleases, why doesn't he get the items by himself? Maybe the rules won't allow him to just take them, but demand that Parley and Smith have to give them to him, because Coyote had given them to them first. In other words, they can only pass from hand to hand freely, rather than through force or theft.

In other words, they can only pass from hand to hand freely, rather than through force or theft. Either that, or he found a crack in/managed to breach the force field after a long search and repeated attempts (he has spent six months at it, after all). again like a trojan horse, or perhaps more accurately a "beachhead" into the court? "Beacon" would be a more appropriate term. I'm not sure if it's illumination from the seedling or Frannie's silhouette is just green because she's wearing a green top, or maybe the Antimonys' shading (Frannie is green, Courtnie is blue) is for some deeper symbolic reason. I'm more inclined to think that it's because of Anti and Mony's clothing. But again, knowing Tom...

I agree, but you said it better: "see" = affinity for (ability to sense, to grok the seeds), activate = control

Anyone noticed how Urban Annie and Sylvan Annie has now shadows in distinguishable colours? I interpreted this to indicate there is some dust (or steam from the pipes?) in the air, scattering the green light and making the air glow faintly. Sylvie appears a bit greener because we are looking through more the "greenish airglow" to see her, due to her greater distance.

That's either a contradiction of what Courtnie said a few pages ago, or proof that there's no such thing as being Loup-proof. The former would beg the question "What the Hat are they thinking about?", the latter would beg "Why doesn't he just grab the goose water already?". Or she doesn't really know where they are. They may be outside the barrier. If both Annies could walk through it, who knows, maybe Parley can teleport through it? Can't wait for monday to bring more answers! questions. The usual.

No. How about No, we dont use the name Sylvie. (about a quarter of the formats will understand) ?? please explain for us uninformed folk.... What I suspect jda meant is that we already have a bunch of names for the two characters that is the Antimony Carver which experienced 6 months of conversation with Loup and the Antimony Carver that experienced the corresponding six months at the court. Adding Sylvie will only confuse things further. The etymology of Sylvie is the the word "sylvan" which means "consisting of or associated with woods; wooded.". While it might be an appropriate descriptor of the first-mentioned Antimony Carver it is a word I, a non-native English speaker, had to look up so I suspect other would have to as well. And at that point the etymology gets too obscure for people to immediately get which character one talks of, and "Sylvie" sounds like it could be another character in the comic unrelated to Antimony Carver.

All true, but why should "about a quarter" of the forumites understand this?
