Is there any sort of Fancanon on what the heck the people who run the school are up to?
Do they have regular staff meetings?

I would like to add, only Queslett and Thornhill staff shall use it. I'm sure none of us want a repeat of that disastrous inter-house staff meeting 10 years ago. Speaking of which: Ms. Lindsey, wasn't it YOU who invited Subject Zeta's class this year? What the hell possessed you?

Personally I feel like there's possibly two levels of governorship in the court, those in the know (those in the weather station, the spy robot, some security, headmaster, etc.) and those who the court finds useful (Donlans, Ant Carver, Jones, etc.)

Not sure about how the meeting itself goes, but I figure it's in a huge room, with massive columns supporting a high, domed ceiling, but with most of the space unused. Just a table in the middle.

The Court has SO MANY buildings that are like that. In fact, they deliberately change which huge, empty, room they meet in, every month, just so they can pretend that all of those rooms have a purpose.

Welcome to the forum! Is there any sort of Fancanon on what the heck the people who run the school are up to? Do they have regular staff meetings? They're researching stuff related to the ether and dimensions. Nifty stuff. Stuff that would give them god-like powers. But they're doing it in a less super-villain more bureaucratic way. If the Court was a real organization I feel comfortable guessing that there would be regular but infrequent meetings overall. The lower level meetings would take place more frequently, maybe weekly for faculty and monthly for school administration. The other mundane aspects of the Court would be handled in similar fashion. The higher-level meetings where the interesting long-term projects are discussed would take place much less often; the people who are in charge of such things have the Court's confidence or else they wouldn't be where they are, and the periodic (monthly? quarterly?) oversight would be a formality for the most part... all else held equal, of course. And then once per year anyone with an expense account in the lower ranks might get audited, though given the Court's attitude I suspect they wouldn't have to appear in person unless there were irregularities. So to get specific, a teacher like Don or Anja would likely have to meet with other teachers in the school weekly, once per month with the school administration and the other teachers, and then once per year with the latter crew. On top of that there would be a staff meeting monthly for each project they were involved in, a quarterly project report with the higher-ups, and then perhaps two additional meetings related to the end of the calendar and fiscal year. Assuming they only participate in one research project that averages out to 6-7 meetings per month. That may seem like a lot but it's actually sort of light compared to other organizations and the meetings would mostly be short unless there's a problem. Antimony is probably still a regular topic in the teacher meetings, for example, but (until recently) there haven't been developments in her case for a while.

I agree with that; indeed, I wonder if the Court even know that their researches into the ether would "give them god-like powers", or if they see it as just another scientific puzzle without realizing the implications of their actions. And I definitely agree with the "less super-villain" way. The Court's done a lot of questionable things (to put it mildly), but I certainly can't see it using its discoveries for some big "take over the world" scheme. My impression is that they're seeking after knowledge, not power (though maybe they might seek after power on a small scale - not the kind of power to use in subjecting the rest of the planet to their will, but the kind that would allow them to quash any attacks from Gilltie Wood).
