That girl is on fire.
Metaphorically.
And literally.

Guess it's really more an invasion than an escape.
I'm in awe seeing her like this. Welcome to the party, forest medium.

That was a lot easier than I expected. She has had some practice escaping similar situations: Ysengrin put her in a chokehold back in Ch54, and she used a similar close-range etheric explosion against the troll back in Ch44 when she was visiting Fun City.

Yeah, fire it up! That was a lot easier than I expected. Somehow I doubt that guardian spirit thing is just going to give up and go home easily...

That was a lot easier than I expected. She hasn't quite escaped yet. Next page could show Annie soaring energetically up...up... Until the last panel, where green guy is standing behind her saying "I tried that. I'm sorry, I was going to tell you..."

Oh, good girl. I wonder what effect it's having on Jeanne. I suspect that Annie-in-elemental-form will prove handy for all hell breaking loose up there.

Come to think of it, this is the first time we've seen Annie deliberately go full elemental since 'Tall Tales'*. Nice to see she's got it together again.
*That tiff with Ysengrin wasn't controlled.

I'm wondering, what will happen if he follows Annie up, and Jeanne engages him in battle. That may be the only way to break the etheric connection. Jeanne's sword against the arrow, so to speak.

Now it's Annie's turn to go Super Saiyan. Egads. It happened! It's just like the epic turn in "Return of Cooler", arguably one of the best DBZ movies ever.

Remember when this was a cute comic about a girl helping a shadow cross a bridge?
(I'm not complaining, just saying, wow, we've been a long way)

Also, where do you think Annie is heading? Except the shiny thing we can also see a building, plus the landscape somehow reminds me of the one around annan waters...
Wild speculation, could the shiny thing be another part of Jeanne?

I'm currently on the bus to school, absolutely gushing about how cool Annie looks right now. We've seen her come a long way, and my parently instincts are going off the wire now. I'm sooo, so proud of her.
Besides that! Let's hope that Annie knows where she's going. Can't wait for Wednesday!!

Flameo Hotman!
It's nice to see Annie finally use her powers in a badass way. Her power set has always been more powerful than it needed to be in her everyday life (except as a safeguard in her medium duties, of course). What is there for her to incinerate? Her physics homework? (Her father?)
It's also nice to see how effective it is against this ancient elven spirit. Unless he is just taken by surprise and will soon retaliate.

Being flashy in the ether isn't as impressive as being flashy outside of it.

Being flashy in the ether isn't as impressive as being flashy outside of it. True for humans, but Forest folk seem to think more of wild etherics.

I mean, at this point I'm even questioning if elfboy's spirit is angry. He could just be lonely. He's been stuck here a long time. And the first person he sees immediately mentions Jeanne, you think he might be a little... overeager in trying to get answers...
