In a Convention in Sweden I cosplayed Zimmy as a last-minute cos I threw together. I failed the teeth painting(so there is none), the wig was slightly(but enough) wrong for the character, contacs are hell and I don't think I fit the character too well. But I took like two pictures of it anyways; just thought it should be here somewhere. I went for creepy smile and failed, making the image even creepier but in a way it shouldn't be... Closed eyes to show how gooey my eyes were after they had been destroyed with mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow-stuff and other things. In the future I plan on doing both Robot with my gf as Shadow and then Parley with my gf as Smitty. I'm probably a much better fit for Parley than Zimmy.

Don't sell yourself short! It more than gets the character across.

If this is what you can do last minute, I'd love to see the complete get-up sometime. It looks very good!

As a last-minute costume: Rather good job! Especially with the eyes closed, it gets across the character

Suggestion for the future (and keeping in mind, makeup isn't my area of expertise...) After blacking out the eyelids and surrounding area as you have for the solid portion of the makeup, perhaps consider using a theatrical 'soot' makeup around the eye. That way you can 'fade' it out away from the eyes a bit easier. One warning: since it's a very fine powder, the stuff tends to get _everywhere_ in the bathroom when you put it on. (I've used it once or twice with a steampunk costume, putting some soot on my face around a pair of goggles. Not the best photo, but unfortunately I don't have any closeups with the stuff on: tinyurl.com/pww4fy4 )

Good job especially at short notice. I'd love to be able to go to a cosplay event myself (big kid). Parley's going to need a lot of bits and pieces (if you're going for the dragonslayer-in-training clothing) but worth it. Would mirrored sunglasses work for Shadow, d'you think?

As someone who has studied theatrical makeup, Maybe to give the edges some texture, (and something you can put some more color on AND clean off easily) You might think about layering liquid latex and tissue pieces. While it may be tricky working with it that close to your eyes, it would really play up the gunky, wrong, nastiness of Zimmy's eyes.

I just work with costumes and props
