Somehow, the thought of Tony having a house weirds me out. The idea of him sleeping in a normal bed with that stone cold expression of his is just... bizarre to me.

And why is Antimony not living there - not enough space for her, would be too far from her classes or Mr. Grumpy does not want her there because she could discover the secret shrine dedicated to Surma?

Tony didn't make her get her hair cut? I suppose it might not technically count as making her if all he had to do was say something about how her long hair made her look ridiculous to get her to see the hairdresser bot. It is heartening that's she's telling Andrew to tell the forest folk to be patient. That means she might still want to go back to the forest, and thinks her dad will allow that to happen in the future. She might be wrong about that, though. Coyote's not happy about this, huh? I'd like to see what that looks like when it's not just a scam to achieve an end. Or...maybe I wouldn't. Maybe I'd like Anthony to see what that looks like...in any case I'm really curious to see what the inside of Anthony's house is like. It might tell us something. Or it might tell us nothing, which would still tell us something. |

Sure, what is long flowing fiery hair good for, if you can have a bob-cut that makes you look like a nine year old. Edit: Sorry for the sarcasm zimmyzims, but no teenage-girl in her right mind wants to look younger than she is. I think the others commenting on Annie's hair is Tom's way to acknowledge this. |

If Kat had been held back a year and could not live in the dormitory, would she move back in with her parents or would she live separately? Well, that likely depends on the commute and the Court is big enough to need trains so... the answer would be "would be too far from her classes". For both, Antimony and Kat. And, yeah, now that I've thought about it, that was a pretty stupid question. |

And we finally got an answer about Annie's hair, though I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse. Hey hey hey, Annie is looking Parley in the face when speaking to her. That's a politer behaviour then the way she treated Kat. Thats a good catch. At first I thought it was because of the way Parley grabbed her, but in the 4th panel shes looking Smitty in his Smitface. |

I just hope it's that his house is very far from the year nine classes, so that it would make sense to put Annie somewhere else. Although - he said there wasn't any place in the dorms, and everyone communes with maglev trains, so that shouldn't be that big of a problem. Or just let her live in the year 10 dorms, she already moved in; I doubt the teaching rooms for year nine are that far from the ones for year ten. But yeah; Anthony Carver's a bag of dicks. You know what's even more horrible? Somebody pointed out that Annie's haircut doesn't look professionally done - it looks as if somebody just cut off her ponytail. And I don't think she has any hope of going back in the near future, it's just that she can't even deal with the responsibilities of being a friend, how can she deal with the responsibilities of being a medium? For me, the point where it became so clear was when she told Kat ' my father has returned. It is taking all my energy not to break down like a complete fool'. Everything, literally everything - the well-being of Renard, her clearly very important job as a medium, her own well-being... that all was less important than to not 'break down'. She just tries to push everything where she doesn't have to deal with it. I've been waiting for Coyote to be unhappy about this, I just hope he doesn't blame Parley or Smitty. Or tries to make Ysengrin take revenge on those petty humans. |

I think the plan here is for the Carvers to be eating dinner at the Donlan's when Mr. and Mrs. Bip are being nefarious. Mr. Carver is distracted, and Miss Carver has a good alibi. Gosh, am I the only one interested in hearing why she did? I think that although her reasons are certainly complex they are not all that mysterious. Why does Annie smile eagerly while handing her homework? Why does she wear blue and grey dresses? Frankly we have enough of an idea of how Annie is feeling from the last 20 pages, I don't need more about that right this minute. What I want to see are answers to the questions that Annie ISN'T asking. The heck with Annie's abusive father, let's try not having her " they think they're being helpful" friends commit crimes in her name when she's specifically asked them not to. She said "please". I'm sorry but I'm with Kat on this one. There are too many questions, very big and obvious questions, that Annie isn't asking about her dad. Someone who cares about her needs to do the asking for her. Kat is not forcing Annie to do something she doesn't want to. She's taking it on herself to find out more information, without involving Annie. I think given the circumstances it's justified. |

If Coyote were truly unhappy he would take action. Supposedly Jones can stop him, but she's not evidently capable of acting on the same scale that Coyote is, so if he wanted to wreck some shit to express his displeasure no one could stop him. I would definitely call "Coyote is not happy" with the bolded not and everything a definite token protest just to keep things moving. Especially if he's telling Smitty this. A nice guy like Andrew would totally buy into "This all powerful deity is totally angry about the Annie situation" since his friend is hurting. |

You think? What I hear are half answers that are there for the sole purpose to deflect criticism to her dad, and do not answer anything at all. "I don't think anything fishy's going on." "He didn't" (cut my hair, humiliate me, or did anything wrong or unusual in any way) "I'm totally fine! Don't worry! Look, I'm totally smiling about this! Can't you see me smiling?" I see lots of denial in typical Annie "there is nothing to see here" language, that's all. It started when Anthony showed up and Annie started groveling. I think Kat is trying to hide her disappointment with Annie. Parley and Smitty could do their own snooping during the dinner, but I assume Kat is expected to be at the dinner. Maybe this first trip is just to reconnoiter Anthony’s security while Kat is available. I still wish they were taking Annie to get her hair done before the dinner. But Annie butchered herself and it is going to take a while before Annie will agree to do anything about her hair. |

The mention of Coyote and Ysengrin's unhappy responses makes me wonder: did Anthony think out the ramifications of his new rules for Annie when he laid them down - ranifications that could lead to strained relations between the Court and the Wood?
It'd be surprising if he hadn't; whatever else you can say about the man, he seems too logical and intelligent not to have considered the consequences. Unless it was a case of focusing so much on Annie that he didn't realize how his disciplining her would affect things beyond her activities - or maybe he simply dismisses the forest-folk as mere talking animals, nothing to be concerned about.

I assume this is to steal Rey back, and secondarily to snoop around. But Kat was unhappy with Annie about the way she was treating him. She may be better friends with Annie, but that doesn't mean she's willing to write off another friend (that is likely suffering) just to make Annie more comfortable. Annie needs to be made uncomfortable and realize she's ignoring reality.
