Random thought - aside from the party PARTY PARTY formalities in the forest during Tall Tales, has Smitty actually done anything to fill the role of court medium?
One would think that for an occasion like this, the two mediums would meet on the bridge for a symbolic transfer of the soul or something. (though admittedly, the forest medium usually wouldn't be from the court)

(though admittedly, the forest medium usually wouldn't be from the court) Considering the Court didn't even have a medium for several years, there was no formal contact between the Forest and the Court during that time, and Ysengrin hates everyone, one wonders how the totems got transferred up until now. (My guess? Jones did it.)

It doesn't seem like creating life would be that hard to me; just carve a new totem.

So how will our rabbit friend look like? Maybe he will have purple hair. If Annie gets to see his souless body we might get a glimpse of other test takers.

Eh, I'm confused a bit. Are all fairies hollow, or is it like a subspecies, or the fairies were hollow because they made a decision (although that by itself didn't change anything about their mind/spirit/body setup goes) and were waiting for the test to be completed? Maybe they have two choices. Either go for the test and become human, or make your own clothes and become an adult and ask a friend to give you a name.

But who gave that theory ? That's the thing, is it pure speculation or actually backed by in-comic evidence ? We know that the "passing" is the medium's job (Ys then Annie), but where was it stated that Ys made his own rules ? Pretty sure it's from the WoT, or one of Tom's other answer repositories. There is no in-comic evidence (though he'd totally do that) but if I remember correctly, Tom has confirmed it outside of the comic. Uhm no, I take it back. I found the reference, it is www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=492but it says exactly the opposite. Humans were not allowed in the wood without giving up their bodies. Nothing to see, move along -.-

While you're linking to that page, could the last panel be a reference to the glass-eyed men?

While you're linking to that page, could the last panel be a reference to the glass-eyed men? In that last panel, I thought Annie was wondering whether her ancestor ended up stuck on the Court side. Her reflection sort of representing another version of herself if things had been different. The reflection has her Court uniform, so this is a thought without much support. But Tom specifically drew the last panel with Annie's reflection for a reason.

So Annie's going to learn how to take the soul out of a being's body and transfer it via totem to another body.
Which might be opening the door to some ridiculous body swapping shenanigans. CAN'T WAIT

While you're linking to that page, could the last panel be a reference to the glass-eyed men? The glass-eyed men were never humans. Coyote tried and failed to make some humans and then just tossed the results aside.
