Hello, I'm new. I had to sign up just to post this dream I had last night, about Gunnerkrigg. It got a bit meta. Comments will be in italics. Dialogue is only partly recalled and indicated with "..." where i trail off.
Dream:
I dreamt the comic had released 3-4 new page spreads, the dream consisted only of these page spreads read one at a time, so detailed that I could probably redraw it. Antimony is visiting Tom Siddell at a comicon stand. The environment they are in is completely plain, just a hallway with walls and floor, red and blue. The first panel shows her looking at where a stand should be, there is nothing there. The absence of a stand is indicated by radiating lines. "Disappointing" Antimony says. She had been looking forward to meeting Tom. She is with a centaur, he has some armour and clothes, and a ornate, magical face helmet/mask. This appears to take place a long time after the current events of gunnerkrigg. The centaur comforts antimony with a hug, "aww sorry... he says, talking about expectancy and fulfillment. "everyone thought he would be here". Antimony asks to see into the centaurs helmet. The helmet was already "known" to the audience, and we knew it acted similar to a blinker stone, letting one see into the ether, like wearing VR. I assume she was trying to find out where Tom had gone. The faun teasefully imply he can't just give it to her, and asks for a training dvd in return. I figure this is like a trade of science stuff vs magical stuff. She does give a dvd to him and he is much impressed with it. They lay down in another hallway and watch the ether/other dimension though the helmet. At this point the dream turns. A danger is coming closer, and antimony cannot see it as she is looking in the other dimension. I am physically in the dream now, the hallways are pitch black and I can hear Tom rummaging in another room nearby. The creeping danger comes close and I am overcome by such terror that can only be experienced in dream, I can imagine this humanoid creature, it looks similar to the renditions of sleep paralysis creatures. I want to run, and warn the others, but I know the creature will kill me if I do. Horrified, all I can hear is the creature brutally mauling poor Tom in the nearby room and I think of the tragedy of antimony's failing to save him because of her own "absence". The scream he let out was so loud and piercing I have heard nothing like it (could be exploding head syndrome)
I Spontaneously wake up from the loud scream, (5:36) but I am still partially dreaming. The room is pitch black, and I worry that I will cause a hallucination by dwelling on the dream. I dwell on it anyway. I instantly feel that the creature was a result of me reading somewhere on the internet that Tom was depressed a while back. (I wasn't sure if it was/is true.) In that sense "Tom was taken by depression" and the comic (antimony) were not reason enough to get him away from that depression. Additionally, Tom became blended with Annie's father, her wanting to meet her father. Tom is her literal father (creator), and she was dissapoined when he was absent. If anyone would suffer from Tom being depressed, it would be his creation.
The end!
Dream seeds (that means things that were obvious causes to dream elements): Having met tom at a stand Irl, mulling over the dream segment with annies father recently, playing evolve last night (shit's scary yo).

I often have very vivid dreams, but it's not every week I get to have a coherent narrative with an obvious explanation. This is my first gunnerkrigg dream to my recollection, and it has rekindled my interest in writing down dreams. There is a lot of association here that I have not mentioned, because notating dreams is intensely difficult without boring you all, and I had to skip a lot of visual descriptions too. Thoughts of Kat and birds and the Centaur's role in the forest hierarchy were all represented by vague impression. Maybe I will get around to draw it sometime.
