I'm not looking forward to see what's become of poor Zeta in here.

I think we will have 'part 2' of this chapter with all this which equals another 16+ pages of glorious adventuring. I really, really hope for part 2

How did nobody notice the giant evil looking tower before this? That seems like it would have been an important thing.

Heh, no way they're leaving without Zimmy, not when there's two twitterpated teens sweet on her.

Seems Zimmy's taking a page out of Annie's book with the whole etheric hair thing. Think she needs to practice more though, she's got that place looking like a death tower. Probably not foreboding at all.
But in all seriousness, couldn't help but notice them humanoid figures behind Jack and Gamma. I figure it's the other students, which makes me think... Are we really going to have this entire grade of notably powerful gifted students along with an army of cultist robots storming a giant glass doom tower to free an etherically overcharged human conduit from an overly obsessive AI and its mutated robotic minions?
'Cause I wanna do that.
please let Zimmy be okay

Both the 'married woman (sort of)' and 'where is Zimmy?' parts. You mean all the 'married (sort of) woman (sort of)' and 'where is Zimmy?' parts. I'm not looking forward to see what's become of poor Zeta in here. I've been wondering how they intentionally invoked the Zimmingham effect myself. I've been picturing one of the Seraphs poking Zeta repeatedly and saying, "Now. Do the thing. With the reality." But it was probably done with some sort of charm or machine or something.

I've been wondering how they intentionally invoked the Zimmingham effect myself. Big town sign on one of the siphons that reads "Welcome to [NOT] Zimmingham". It's still Zimmingham, just with an empowerment grant for new construction. (Edit: And who knows, maybe a cruise ship making regular visits could revitalize the downtown area.) (Edit2: Your robot signage joke does bring up an interesting notion though... Since this isn't from Zimmy's memories this isn't really Zimmingham. It is a hybrid of new storytelling.)

But it was probably done with some sort of charm or machine or something. Just keeping Zimmy away from Gamma for long enough would probably help. (Though it might have been more than that, in light of everyone being transported physically into some version of her world this time. Of course, the syphons' properties might have helped.) And we get a good explanation for Jack calling back his original proposal; Gamma hadn't yet told him about Zimmy being in the tower before he made it. Glad to see Paz bringing up that Lindsey's already married. While she's at it, she could also bring up that endangering Lindsey's charges is not the best way to her heart - or that the ship betrayed its own responsibility to look after the students on the cruise. Though I fear that they might not convince the ship - in other cases I've seen where someone's driven mad enough with desire for a woman that he plunges all around into chaos to get her, he hardly ever listens to reason.

This chapter makes me feel like this place is something like a Disc 1 Final Dungeon. I bet Team Annie might get some pretty easy levels here if they took some time to fight them Exp spiders.

Are those black silhouettes in the back ground the morphing Seraphs? That's what I'm assuming based on the beam and the visible fibers.
Interesting. Paz, the voice of reason. Because going after a taken woman is just kinda wrong. I wonder what the ship will say in response to her inquiry. And I wonder what Kat is exactly thinking.

Is it me or does the hair plus the building kind of look like a face? With the building being the nose, and the face looks like she's in pain or angry and probably crying.

(Though it might have been more than that, in light of everyone being transported physically into some version of her world this time. Of course, the syphons' properties might have helped.) It did occur to me that it wasn't necessary to separate Gamma from Zeta to invoke the phenomenon when dealing with the collector. She just needed to "let go too soon." With these siphons I suppose that it's more directed, which brings to mind the "busted floodgate" simile. More apt to this circumstance, I think a gas cap had to be removed before the siphons could be inserted into the tank. In theory that could make Zeta feel better but in practice I suspect it would be more like someone who suffers from visual disturbances from, say, high blood pressure... You could relieve the symptoms by slicing open some arteries but the cure would be worse than the disease... By the way... Is Proboards hacking anyone else's links and linked text to bits or is it just me that it likes to cut my sentences in half, lose most of the link, etc?

Ok, so I'm thinking that the ship can go two ways with this- either rom-com style "Bud is no good for Lindsey and I must win her heart!" or "Godzilla/I will crush all who stand in my way because I am a cruise-ship sized monster and nothing can stop me!" What kinda odds do you think I should put on these bets? I never knew that sea scorpions had a concept of matrimony until now. Until you read GKC I bet you didn't know they where sentient or could be psychic, either.

How did nobody notice the giant evil looking tower before this? That seems like it would have been an important thing. I imagine because it's not part of Zimmingham. It doesn't fit the structure, motif, etc, so it was probably just ignored as part of the sea wall. It's colors would lend itself to a camouflage* effect. Is it me or does the hair plus the building kind of look like a face? With the building being the nose, and the face looks like she's in pain or angry and probably crying. Yes! And is anyone else kinda scared to see Cruise Ships body in it's entirety? Looking at Kat and Paz in that last panel suddenly has me frightened of cruise ships entire visage... *Total side note: I hate when companies play with real words to make their names. Recently I've been playing a LOT of Republique, and the company that made it is called Camouflaj. It took me a good minute to write the word camouflage correctly because, while I knew the company name was spelled wrong, I couldn't think past it to correctly write it.

You mean all the 'married (sort of) woman (sort of)' and 'where is Zimmy?' parts. ?? Marriage being extremely unlikely to be similar in their culture, so I count three things not two, so all not both.

Sleeping Beauty. Since this isn't from Zimmy's memories this isn't really Zimmingham. I do agree, but what makes you think so? No, it happens. I tried editing in some new pictures in the avatar thread, and half of the older links disappeared. So Zimmy is now located, Paz and Kat are still with the ship (although Annie and the others do not know that, I'm surprised they haven't mentioned them yet), that leaves only Lindsey missing. I now think Zimcity changed her into a beautiful schooner...

Are those black silhouettes in the back ground the morphing Seraphs? That's what I'm assuming based on the beam and the visible fibers. It took me a second to find the shapes you're mentioning, there on either side of panel 3, because I was looking for something small. They're actually in the extreme foreground, not the background, but either way they're not the focus of the scene and their in shadow so it's hard to too them. They're so close I didn't even notice them -- good catch! I think you're right about them being the Seraphs, which doesn't bode well for Kat and Paz. Is it me or does the hair plus the building kind of look like a face? With the building being the nose, and the face looks like she's in pain or angry and probably crying. I came here to say the same thing. What if she's not in the building, but is the building? I'm worried that we'll end up seeing panel four of this page taken to the extreme.

...that leaves only Lindsey missing... And Boxbot (and perhaps Bud). Proof that Boxbot will show up: This situation is terrible. Holding Out For A BoxBot - by Antimony Carver Where have all the good bots gone And where are all the gods? Where's the street-wise Robocop To fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need
[Chorus:] I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the end of the night He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the morning light He's gotta be box, he's gotta be bot And he's gotta be so terrible, so terrible
(dada dada dada dada da)
Somewhere after midnight In my wildest fantasies Somewhere just beyond my reach There's somebot reaching back for me Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat Isn’t there a superbot to sweep me off my feet?
[Chorus:] I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the end of the night He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the morning light He's gotta be box, he's gotta be bot And he's gotta be so terrible
Up where the mountains meet the heavens above Out where the lightning splits the sea I could swear that there's somebot somewhere watching me Through the wind and the chill and the rain And the storm and the raging flood Oh, his approach is like a fire in my blood
I’ll meet a BoxBot And then we’ll dance 'til the morning light Dreaming, he'll lead me Held tight, Tonight’s the night
[Chorus:] I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the end of the night He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a BoxBot I'm holding out for a BoxBot 'til the morning light He's gotta be box, he’s gotta be bot And he's gotta be so terrible, so terrible
(dada dada dada dada da) Oh (dada dada dada dada da) so terrible (dada dada dada dada da) so terrible (dada dada dada dada da)
Oh maybe, maybe, maybe tonight (dada dada dada dada da) Oh, oh

It was taken from a Boxbot."
