That comic uses one of the worst fonts I have ever seen (either that or they need to stop using digits in place of letters).
And I couldn't find the beginning of the comic.
The art is decent...

Homestuck's characters each have typing quirks, as are reflected here. A large portion of the story is written in L33t speak.

I thought this was a GKC board, not a Homestuck fan club...
Unless the central point here is Tom's guest authorship.

Unless the central point here is Tom's guest authorship. It is. Hmm, you can see echoes of Tom's art in the facial structure. The overall art style also looks like the pic of Ysengrin in AitF1.

The overall art style also looks like the pic of Ysengrin in AitF1. Given the theme, it's a bit like suddenly seeing " Dangerously Chloe" drawn by Tom. Very weird and very cool.

I believe the, er, base drawing was by Allison Shabet and the inking was by Tom. Does anybody follow Allison's comic, Dead Winter? It's pretty good, though very different from GKC. It's interesting to see their styles combined this way.

Unless I misunderstand what you mean by "base drawing".

I guess that was my understanding of the tweet from Tom's twitter, which said that he "helped ink" it, but which, looking back, I realize is a bit ambiguous. My understanding of the process of making a comic would be pencils, then inks, then colors, so I would assume that Allison had been responsible for the pencils and Tom the inks. I do see snatches of Allison's style in the page, but I agree that it's a departure from what she does in her regular comic. If it helps, she mentions she's been experimenting with different styles this month, in her most recent tumblr entry.

They're both aping manga guys, of course it's going to look different to most of their usual stuff.
Also of note; I am still stoked that the two of the webcomics I follow most regularly atm are teaming up. Wish Dead Winter was as... regular as GKC, but she does has a lot of stuff to deal with.

Sadly, since then it seems to only update about one page a month (or thereabouts). I have never heard of Paradox Space... time to have a look.

Been reading Dead Winter for a good long while now myself, after I followed a link to it from another webcomic (though which one that was, I cannot exactly recall). I say, if it takes a full month to make each update as spectacularly beautiful as they are, it's a month worth waiting through.

Hey, just curious - can you all list the webcomics (besides GKC of couse) that you read? Unless that would overload ProBoards servers, heh. My drugs of choice are (in no order): - Girl Genius
- xkcd
- Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
- Six by Nine
- Freefall
- Order of the Stick
- Dresden Codak
- Questionable Content
- Dead Winter
- Demon's Mirror
- Team Fortress 2 (does that count?)
- Sandra and Woo (formerly)

List all the comics I read? Oh gee... it's a long list... does this site do spoiler tags? Testing... Test Okay, yes it does (but they don't work right in preview) if you know the bbcode to type. I posted the list elsewhere recently... Here it is, everything WAS a link but that didn't copy over (so I gotta go through the list and expand the acronyms). 103 items. A few of them are text serials rather than comics. 21st Century Fox Bardsworth Blade Bunny Blindsprings Candi Caribbean Blue Cherry! Stepping Back Code Name: Hunter Cross Time Cafe Curtailed Day by Day Delve Dan & Mab's Furry Adventure Doodling Around Dragonet Dungeon, Sweet Dungeon Explosive Crash Dummy El Goonish Shive El Goonish Shive Sketchbook Enjuhneer Errant Apprentice Everblue Everyday Heroes Evon Faux Pas Flaky Pastry Flipside Flux Footloose Freefall Furry Experience Gaia Galaxion Gene Catlow Genocide Man Girl Genius Girls With Slingshots Go Get a Roomie Goblins Gunnerkrigg Court GyreWorld Head Trip In Love & Justice Kahmith Keeper of the Seven Keys Kinslayer Kitfox Comics Kiwi Blitz Lost Nova M.F.K. If you want that list as links, go here. Now there's a much shorter list of comics that I also either (a.) enjoy the forum as well or (b.) really wish there were a forum. Candi, El Goonish Shive, Flipside, Go Get a Roomie, Gunnerkrigg Court, Rain, Too Much Information, Twokinds, and Wapsi Square.

Conveniently alphabetized by the feed notifier: - Archipelago - McNinja - El Goonish Shive - MSPA (and PxS, loosely) - Paranatural - Prequel - Questionable Content (kinda meh) - xkcd A few others, Unsounded being the only one to come to mind for the moment, that are somewhat boring to follow serially so I check it every few months or so. By which I mean their RSS feed is implemented horribly and I forget to check. I'm pretty sure there's another thread for this floating around somewhere, but oh well

Oooh.
- Dead Winter - Dumbing of Age (& Shortpacked, It's Walky, which are by the same creator) - Questionable Content (& Alice Grove) - Girls with Slingshots - Bad Machinery - MSPA (I guess.) - Monster Pulse - Becoming Me - Computer Love
As of yesterday I've read through the archives of Octopus Pie and will soon start following it. I also started reading through Paranatural but haven't gotten very far, seems cool though. Sometimes I check up on XKCD, and Oglaf, whenever I remember. I was following Nimona for about a week, but then it ended.

I have one RSS folder with comics I check frequently, another folder for comics I personally don't find that engaging or they don't update often, and then several other folders for finished comics and various random stuff that might be good or I might've not had time to read yet. I will just list my favorites, besides GC (which tops that list). The ones I'd recommend: Vattu Stand Still. Stay Silent Bad Machinery Derelict Monster Pulse False Positive Demon (this thing: www.shigabooks.com/wordpress/?p=224 It starts off depressing but holy moly once it jumps...) I read many more, but these are my favorites at this time. Ah well, I'll add my "finished comics" list too: Nimona FreakAngels Ratfist Tomb A Redtail's Dream Bobwhite WIGU
