That was amazing to watch. Interesting to see how quickly Jones becomes obviously Jones once he starts drawing. "Part of the problem with my character designs... they are a little bit bland. Especially when it comes to their clothes", he says, as he draws a most fabulous hat for Jones. In fact, I would call it Divine. I also think it is cool to see how he draws each picture three times. The initial framework sketch (layer 1) then what seems to be the actual picture (layer 2) then goes over that with the actual final drawing and wow, it looks great.

I'm sure everyone is already aware, but he's so friendly! I got to sit in on this today, and he answered a bunch of my questions.

If you donate on patreon, even if it is below the amount for the livestream, you should get an email telling you it was about to start as well. I did at least, although maybe you have to set up email alerts for patreon updates.

Oh fuck. That crossover pic was so worth 50 dollars, I cannot even begin to describe. HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG thank god I chose to drop the money. Who knows when Tom is going to be doing commissions next. Can't wait till he sends the final versions out to everybody. I had to drive to Palm Springs while the stream was going on, and when I got back I was almost beside myself with joy to find this.

Who knows when Tom is going to be doing commissions next. I loved watching him do the simplified backgrounds. Yours turned out great. Well, he did say that if people rotate out of the $50 slot, he'll be doing them for new people who commit $50. But who knows when that will be. I'll be getting mine next month; I wanted two people, so I'm waiting for two months to go by before I request (he said this was alright).

I'm going to rotate out of my slot soon, because though I would totally commit 50 dollars to Tom in perpetuity if I could, alas, it is beyond my means at present.

So for the commissions for 50 dollar thing, does he send you a physical copy as well as a soft copy? Is it just on normal paper or fancy photograph paper ready to be framed? or what?

I'm not sure, he hasn't sent them out yet. I just took a screencap of the stream. I think he's waiting until he's done with all of them...? Maybe? Dunno.

... That crossover pic was so worth 50 dollars, I cannot even begin to describe. ... Where does this crossover from? Also, what is the origin of the symbol on Jack's cap? This one: (Imgur link: imgur.com/ZUy6vfa) I searched google images and also looked on gunnerkrigg.wikia.com/wiki/Symbols but several symbols there display as unavailable unicode for me.

This one: (Imgur link: imgur.com/ZUy6vfa) I searched google images and also looked on gunnerkrigg.wikia.com/wiki/Symbols but several symbols there display as unavailable unicode for me. The crossover is from a popular video game called Watch Dogs. The request was to draw Jack dressed like the main character, Aiden. Aiden wears a cap with that symbol. (I think it's supposed to be a stylized dog.)

I just got around to watching the video, it's awesome.
I do have one weird observation. I thought he drew with a Cintiq, but the sounds he's making while drawing, they sound more like hitting the mouse buttons and dragging the mouse around. What witchery is this?
Also, his comment about clothes on his characters being bland (and even characters themselves)? Bahahah! Good lord, I recall so many times where people have observed how nice the clothes are! I don't think there's many comics that match Tom's versatility in fashion styles. He always makes them suit the character perfectly, too.
Tom has a nice voice, and he just sounds like such a good guy.

Maybe Tom's talking about the school uniforms (if he thinks they're bland, that could explain why they don't show up that often anymore - though I miss them. I thought they matched Annie's calm and matter-of-fact tone - though we haven't seen much of that either, lately).

Hey, question for you two (or anyone else on here who got sketches last month). After you told him what you wanted, did he reply, or did you not hear back until the sketch was being sent over? Just curious, 'cause I postponed my sketch until this month, but I haven't seen anything from Tom for awhile about these things (stream, post on patreon, twitter, what have you). Just wondering was procedure was. Thanks! I'm kinda toying with the idea of pledging 50 bucks every single month, it's just...*_* Someone asked him about this directly, and he was saying one sketch per person (and that people can feel free to cycle out of the 50 dollar slot to something lower, or whatever).

Check out this amazing Kat in Chell's longfall boots ! Hot dang! That's fantastic! I have yet to be employed, so I cannot patron, but seriously, I just have so little imagination for what I may want for Tom to draw. Um, maybe Annie dressed as Delsin from inFamous: Second Son?

Turned out great, no complaints, expectations blown away.

Maybe I should email him again, then; I sent him reference and potential inspiration weeks back (after asking to make sure it was okay to wait until the second month had rolled over; I wanted something a little more involved, so I waited for another payment to go through). Thanks guys.

Might want to give him the rest of the week to settle back in and wade through his messages.

I had no idea! I read his Twitter feed, but didn't put two and two together. Derp. I had emailed so long ago (September 3rd) that I was just concerned he hadn't gotten my email at all. Thanks Jelly, but I had already emailed him, and he emailed me back telling me what you said. He was really nice about it. I feel kinda bad now. Oh well.
