Was trying to be fun. As in other posts today. Should remember to use those emoticons... Edit: I found your idea funny and you don't have to grant me anything as I made no claims whatsoever. I made a cheapish pun that basically agreed with your idea: it would suit Jenny well to be from Zimmingham, because she's such a nobody in that more usual sense: the noun here. Obviously, we don't know much anything at all about what she is and isn't, but so far she has managed to establish herself in my very biased reader's point of view as Jack's Zimmy-substitute and a boxbot impersonator. From the gothness, pallor and tartan skirt I hear the "Why, helloooo" as a Scottish accent, rather than Bottish

I voted not Zimmy on the poll, but then people in the thread almost convinced me they could be Zimmy, it just goes to show, you should never listen to other people or care about what they say.

This is going to be a drama cruise! I'm so excited for this chapter! I anticipate being even more excited if Zimmy actually appears there too. I was really excited about her return. Next page Zimmy and Gamma (and Jones) I voted not Zimmy on the poll, but then people in the thread almost convinced me they could be Zimmy, it just goes to show, you should never listen to other people or care about what they say. You should only take my advice when I'm right.

Because Jack having dropped Zimmy to date someone looking (almost) exactly like her is just tasteless in my opinion. I know what you mean, but I can kinda empathise with him. "Zimmy never gonna give me a chance, huh?" *Finds Jenny* "Oh hey you look cute!" It might be tasteless, but then, maybe he can't help it? He's only human. Hmm... You think Annie will confront him about it? Although she changed, knowing her, you know. Perhaps she's a nobody that managed to escape or was brought out, or is one of those real people without a face that Zimmy talked about, or something else? Who knows, maybe given her complexion she's a whitelegs that's somehow now in girl form? NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE! That's awful! That's horrible!! I love it! D:

I imagine it's possible that Jack's feelings for Jenny are sincere. I think Zimmy's hold on him has probably faded a good deal. When I saw her name was Jenny, I couldn't help but think of Pirate Jenny from Three-Penny Opera. Especially with the nautical theme. Yeah? Yeah? No?

I would sincerely hope Jack's whiteleg induced infatuation with Zimmy is over. Zimmy seems to have more pressing problems than who to date. Like losing control over zimmingham and dying, or pulling everyone into it, or Renard forbid, all the white legs and creepy manifestations of her mind escaping. If Jenny is just a "you'll do" stand-in for Zimmy he's a bit of an idiot and a jerk, but who wasn't when it came to love as a teenager?

Of course, Tom being the troll and devious plotter that he is, I wouldn't be surprised if the real twist turned out to be that she was, in some fashion, Zimmy after all.
I had to read Spring Heeled like five times before I could even kind of understand what had happened. With Zimmy, what you see is definitely not what you get. For all we know Jenny is Zimmy and Jack is Gamma and Antimony and Katerina are actually Jack and Jenny and Antimony and Katerina aren't actually even in this chapter.

I also laughed quite heavily at today's page, although the glance Jenny gives in her final appearance on the page makes her looks really scary. Reminds me of the girl out of "The Ring", for some reason. That is so funny, I thought of Sadako immediately when I saw that last panel with her. I wonder if we are jumping to conclusions two pages in a row here? Yes, Tom got us good with making us think it was Zimmy, but do we really know for sure if Jack is only dating her as a substitute? All in all, she is actually rather cute. (Panel one, short skirt.) For all we know, she could have hit on him. He is considered a fairly good looking guy, right? Or she might have simply been standing too close when he did a level three collar pop.

Gunnerkrigg Court, folks! /thread Some of this did occur to me. (Note that Jack has similar hair colouring to Gamma, who is also a little older) Come to think of it, I can imagine Zimmy in a good mood* pulling a snarky stunt like that. ('Set yer boyfriends on to me, will ya, Carver?') *All that fresh sea air.

Not that; I mean, he's made it clear that it's Zimmy specifically that he's attracted to (because the spiders were), not Goths in general Of course, he liked Zimmy. But according to Jack himself, he still was that interested in her after being deprived of the spiders not just for her attitude or whatever personal qualities, but also because he realized that, given makeover and reasonably good dress, she will actually look good. (of course, this may have changed in the last year of the comic). He was interested in Kat back during the Ether Station night sally. Perhaps not "Goth", but definitely "brunette with big eyes whom could get more outdoor time". Of course, he could actually look at her twice just because of common interests, just like with Annie, but now that it's "3 out of 4"?.. By the way, imagine (or help yourself with software of choice) pre-forest Annie with dyed hair and dark clothes without any other changes - should this appear on-screen, she would be immediately branded " ridiculously goth". In my opinion, at least, liking Goth girls in general is distinct from dating them just because they remind you of a single person you're fixated on. The former is great, but the latter is (to me) tasteless. This view of Jack is supported by a single asssumption and contradicted by (however flimsy) evidence. Besides, this goes both ways. If he suddenly switched to blue-eyed blondes because they don't remind him of Zimmy, would it be more tasteful? Or healthy?

He was interested in Kat back during the Ether Station night sally. What ? no. Look at it again, then. From the first page where they are on the roof, Jack is right next to her. Kat asks a question and they start talking... okay. But he holds this position through the rest of that misadventure - Kat remains between Annie and Jack, even though they three move back and forth. After the downpour starts, Jack moves his umbrella over Kat and Annie. After he got Zimmy-zapped, he stands stunned, hand with umbrella dropped - still next to Kat. Only after Zimmy an Gamma passed Annie he moved away (after Zimmy, to ask questions he couldn't put into words).

I picked up on something between Jack and Kat that night as well and even shipped them for a while. They seemed at least as amicable as John and Margo. That was my impression at least.

I'd respond sarcastically, but you linked to your brony deviantart page. I don't think there's anything I can type to top that. Besides, it would lead to me being serious. I can't (and don't) take drama over a minor character reveal seriously. Nothing personal, have fun yo.

In any case, cheers!
